According to pro-industry publication, Smart Cities Dive:

  • The U.S. Conference of Mayors (USCM) said in a statement that it would sue the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) if the commission does not change a proposed policy that would preempt local control in a bid to streamline installation of 5G wireless infrastructure.
  • The National Association of Counties is also opposing the proposal, telling POLITICO it would “effectively prevent local governments from properly examining the impact that construction, modification or installation of broadcasting facilities may have on public health, safety and welfare of the local community.”
  • The proposal from FCC commissioner Brendan Carr would bar municipal laws prohibiting deployment of 5G small cells and would set deadlines for municipalities to approve or disapprove applications to install small cells or build new poles. The plan is set for a vote on Sept. 26.

Video Rebel’s Blog

I took the name Vidrebel for this blog because I began it by commenting on videos from a rebel’s perspective. Today I want to go back to my origins by commenting on two videos you need to know about.

The first is an interview with Rosemary Gibson who wrote China Rx. China makes the active ingredients for most drug manufacturers in the world including all those generics made in India. They make our penicillin, birth control pills and antibiotics.  China dumped drugs on the market to bankrupt competitors in Europe, the US and India. The FDA banned 29 Chinese company products due to impurities. The FDA had to rescind the ban on 14 products because nobody else was producing it. Contaminated Chinese heparin killed many American heart patients but still imported from China as we had no alternative sources. This is becoming a national security issue. Portland, OR – A community is outraged after a father and U.S. Navy veteran was shot and killed by police while witnesses claim he was being a good Samaritan and trying to break up a fight, but when his handgun fell out of its holster and he reached to pick it up, police did not hesitate to open fire on him. The handgun was legal and the victim had a permit to carry it concealed.

Although the incident happened in June, the body camera footage was just released on Friday after a grand jury ruled that neither of the cops would be charged for killing Jason E. Washington, 45, a beloved father of three daughters who married his high school sweetheart, served in the Navy, and was working as a U.S. postal worker. He was also the only one who attempted to break up a fight that broke out on a street corner in downtown Portland while nearby police did nothing to help. ANCHORAGE (KTUU) – Alaska’s most active volcanoes sit far from the state’s population centers, and often spurt ash or steam, but for pilots in the Alaska Peninsula and Aleutians, a sighting of a volcano isn’t out of the ordinary.

Captain Joe Timmreck, who flies for Ace Air, captured dramatic video of lava flows on the side of Veniaminof Volcano in Southwest Alaska Wednesday. Timmreck says he and his copilot Nicholas Huling were flying a usual route between Anchorage and Sand Point when they caught sight of the lava flows. With Huling’s help flying, Timmreck was able to capture more than three minutes of footage of lava flows making their way down the side of the remote mountain.   Continue reading “Lava spews from Veniamanof Volcano in Southwest Alaska”

The Researching the American-Israeli Alliance group, in partnership with anti-occupation group Jewish Voice for Peace released a report detailing the ways in which exchanges between the United States and Israeli state security agencies have reinforced a “security model that justifies flagrant human and civil rights violations” in the wake of the 9/11 attacks.

This model, which relies on civilian surveillance and racial profiling along with suppressing public protests and critical social movements, does not target potential foreign enemy threats but civilian population and minority communities.   Continue reading “‘Deadly Exchange’: Report Details, Criticizes Israel’s Role in Militarizing US Law Enforcement Post 9/11”
