WASHINGTON — A shooting at a suburban Washington state high school on Friday is likely to intensify an already heated debate over two competing state ballot measures related to gun background checks, both of which will go before voters on Nov. 4.

Information on the shooting was still emerging Friday afternoon, but multiple reports describe a lone gunman opening fire on the school cafeteria at Marysville Pilchuck High School, in Marysville, Washington. At least four students were injured and one was killed, not including the shooter. Several media outlets have reported that the gunman, who has not yet been publicly identified by authorities, was dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound at the scene. It is unclear how he acquired the weapon.   Continue reading “Washington Voters Will Weigh Competing Gun Control Measures On Heels Of School Shooting”

Unbridled “open border” immigration is outrageously unwise.  It has historically been associated with forced“immigration”, otherwise known as an invasion.

In the early days of our nation when those who came from Europe forced themselves upon the people living in what is now America (“Indians”) we allegedly took care of those pesky natives by giving them blankets.  But not just any blanket — blankets that a person who had smallpox had wrapped themselves in.   Continue reading “Smallpox Blankets *FROM* Mexico: Obama’s Legacy?”

Kirpan, religious knife in Sikh faithKing 5 News – by Eric Wilkinson

AUBURN, Wash. — Like all religions, the Sikh faith is steeped in tradition. One of the most revered is the carrying of a Kirpan, a sword or dagger, at all times.

“People will even wear it in the shower. It’s kind of hard for others to understand,” said Jaswinder Singh, spokesman for the Gurudwara Sikh Center of Seattle.

The concept of the Kirpan is taught to children at an early age. The dagger is considered an instrument of social justice.   Continue reading “Student allowed to bring religious knife to class”

NEW YORK (AP) — The stock market closed out its best week in nearly two years on a positive note Friday, helped by strong quarterly earnings from Microsoft and other big U.S. companies.

After weeks of speculation over the fate of Europe’s economy, Ebola fears and plunging oil prices, investors were able to get back to basics. Wall Street is in the midst of one of the busiest times of the year, when companies report their quarterly results. Ultimately what drives stock prices higher is the potential for a company to earn more, so higher profits generally mean higher stock prices.   Continue reading “US stock market has best week in nearly 2 years”

You can't always carry a weapon to defend yourself but with a little creativity and some training, there are many discreet weapons you can improvise. http://graywolfsurvival.com/?p=47375Graywolf Survival

Let’s face it: it would be nice to be able to carry a concealed firearm with you wherever you go to be able to protect yourself and your family from any of the millions of crazy people in the world who don’t have your best interests in mind. Unfortunately, that’s not always possible.

Some governments have decided that it is up to only a chosen few to be able to do that and if you’re not lucky enough to be one of those chosen few, you need to hope that you happen to have one in the room if something happens – and hope they can take care of it on their own.   Continue reading “5 discreet weapons you can carry (almost) anywhere”

The Washington neo-cons and their allies in the US State Department and Obama Administration are clearly furious with China, as they are with Russia’s Vladimir Putin. As both Russia and China in recent years have become more assertive about defining their national interests, and as both Eurasian powers draw into a closer cooperation on all strategic levels, Washington has decided to unleash havoc against Beijing, as it has unleashed the Ukraine dis-order against Russia and Russian links to the EU. The flurry of recent deals binding Beijing and Moscow more closely—the $400 billion gas pipeline, the BRICS infrastructure bank, trade in rubles and renminbi by-passing the US dollar—has triggered Washington’s response. It’s called the Hong Kong ‘Umbrella Revolution’ in the popular media.   Continue reading “Hong Kong’s Umbrellas are “Made in USA””

In a Washington Post commentary published on Monday, Joseph Perrone claims “a handful of deaths in Denver were tied to edible marijuana use this year.” That’s true, if by “handful” you mean two and if by “tied” you mean attributed by pot prohibitionists.

Perrone is referring to Levy Thamba Pongi, a visiting 19-year-old college student who jumped off a Denver hotel balcony after eating a pot cookie on March 11, and Kristine Kirk, whose husband allegedly murdered her on April 14 after eating cannabis candy. Perrone thus exaggerates the number of deaths and blames them on marijuana through post hoc, ergo propter hoc reasoning. This in an essay about  “the junk ‘science’ behind the marijuana legalization movement,” written by the chief science officer at an organization called the Center for Accountability in Science. I guess if you say “science” enough, you needn’t worry about being scientific.   Continue reading “Pot Prohibitionists Invent Marijuana Deaths, Scientifically”
