Those crafty little boogers have proven to the world that they can do what even they said could not be done.

Oxfam recently reported that just 80 people possess the same quantity of wealth as 3.5 billion others.

How is that possible when capitalism is supposed to be the great equalizer – the engine for prosperity and opportunity for all?   Continue reading “How did 80 people gain control over more combined wealth than 3.5 billion others?”

Four years after losing her job to outsourcing, bus driver Stephanie Hicks will get a second chance to challenge the Central Point School District’s decision to lay off its own employees and hire a private contractor.

The Oregon Court of Appeals ruled April 22 that the Medford-area school district violated state law by using an inadequate and improper process for evaluating potential cost savings. The ruling overturns a decision by the Jackson County Circuit Court and orders the lower court to reconsider the case “consistent with this opinion.”   Continue reading “Laid-off school bus driver wins Oregon court ruling over outsourcing”

There’s a distinct pattern when society breaks down, and as our society becomes more desperate, poverty-stricken, and lacking of moral compass, this trend will become more obvious. Note that the “lacking of moral compass” part doesn’t just refer to the thugs rioting and looting, but also to the cops who think that their badges give them permission to behave like street thugs, too.   Continue reading “Civil Unrest and Riots: Why You MUST Be Armed to be Truly Prepared”

The Finnish Navy first detected an unidentified underwater object on Monday. Surface ships were dispatched to the area for a search operation. More contacts were made throughout Monday night and into Tuesday, at which point the military decided to use depth charges about the size of hand grenades.   Continue reading “Finland chases off suspected foreign sub with depth charges”

CILICAP, Indonesia (AP) — Ambulances carrying coffins arrived Tuesday at a prison island and relatives paid final visits to their condemned loved ones as Indonesia announced it will execute eight foreigners and one Indonesian man on drug charges, despite an international outcry and pleas for mercy.

The nine inmates were given 72-hour notices over the weekend that they would be executed by a firing squad, prompting a flurry of last-minute lobbying by foreign leaders. The United Nations has argued that their crimes — possession of heroin, marijuana or cocaine — are not egregious enough to warrant the ultimate punishment.   Continue reading “Coffins arrive at Indonesian prison as executions near”

Baltimore, MD — The Crips, Bloods, BGF and other major gangs reportedly called a truce during yesterday’s Freddie Gray protests in Baltimore. They did not make threats of violence, they were not indicated as participants in acts of violence or vandalism during the protests.

However, their promise to no longer be divided, was such a threat to the establishment that within 12 hours there were stories on the home page of every mainstream media publication talking about how the gangs were going to join up with the specific intention of killing cops and burning down the city.   Continue reading “Crips, Bloods Call Truce, Not to Harm Cops But to Protect their Community from Violence & Looting”

Serving one’s country not only means putting yourself in harm’s way before a foreign enemy, it also means putting your health in the hands of a military health system that has no real accountability for making fatal mistakes.

In the civilian world, a patient who is misdiagnosed and harmed by such a mistake can sue their doctor for malpractice. But this recourse does not exist with the military’s health providers, who can miss a serious medical problem with an individual and not worry about being taken to court, or even have their mistake shared with other patients.   Continue reading “Members of U.S. Military have no Recourse if they Suffer from Poor Medical Treatment”

Go on to any gun forum, and it won’t take you long to find people willing to tell you how great the M14 is. How accurate, like a laser, tough as tool steel with no need to baby it or clean it. Powerful as a bolt of lightening, and  how well loved it was by those early users who refused the M16 because they wanted a “real” weapon made of wood and steel…. ..     But, is all that really true?  Maybe it is a triumph of nostalgia over common sense and reality.   One truth is, it was never really liked as much as people think they remember.   Continue reading “The M14, Not Much For Fighting ( A Case Against The M14 Legend )”
