Dick Cheney’s book explains his ‘exceptional’ vision for America: War, torture and mass surveillance
Raw Story – by Joe Wilson and Valerie Plame
Eceptional, the new book from former Vice President Dick Cheney and his daughter Liz, is not. It is nothing more than an unhinged rant that smacks of sedition.
“The children need to know the truth about who we are, what we’ve done, and why it is uniquely America’s duty to be freedom’s defender,” the prologue proclaims. The book, however, is not about who we are but who Cheney wants us to become. It is a call for Americans to reject constitutional government and those values that have guided our nation for 227 years and replace it with imperial rule in the name of “freedom”––even when that rule includes wars of choice, intrusive violations of our privacy and civil liberties, and of course, an aggressive regime of torture. Minnesota motorists cannot be held guilty of a crime if they refuses to allow a police officer to draw their blood on demand. A divided state Court of Appeals panel came to that conclusion last week after applying the reasoning found in the US Supreme Court’s McNeely decision (view case), which struck down forced motorist blood draws.
Todd Eugene Trahan was pulled over after midnight on October 24, 2012, after a Ramsey County sheriff’s deputy noticed his erratic driving. After pulling Trahan over, it was obvious he was intoxicated. Trahan had a long history of driving under the influence (DUI) convictions. He was taken to a jail cell where he declined to allow a blood draw. Continue reading “Minnesota: DUI Blood Draw Refusal Cannot Be Criminalized”
In yet another sickening example of the absolute mental derangement of modern society, Sesame Street has rolled out its first autistic muppet named “Julia,” says the Sesame Street website
The rollout of autistic Julia is Sesame Street’s attempt to “normalize” vaccine injuries and depict those victimized by vaccines as happy, “amazing” children rather than admitting the truth that vaccines cause autism in some children and we should therefore make vaccines safer and less frequent to save those children from a lifetime of neurological damage. Continue reading “Sesame Street rolls out autistic muppet to ‘normalize’ vaccine injured children… follows Elmo push for mass vaccinations”
Oct 22 New York Governor Andrew Cuomo used his executive authority on Thursday to expand the state’s anti-discrimination law to include transgender people in what his office said was the most sweeping protections for transgender individuals in the country.
The move will immediately make it illegal for employers, housing providers, businesses, creditors and others to discriminate on the basis of gender identity. Continue reading “New York’s governor expands discrimination protections for transgender individuals”
President Barack Obama vetoed a sweeping $612 billion defense policy bill on Thursday, returning the measure to the Republican-controlled Congress because of the way it uses money meant for war spending to avoid automatic budget cuts to military programs.
“I’m going to be sending it back to Congress and my message to them is very simple: ‘Let’s do this right,'” Obama told reporters.
“We’re in the midst of budget discussions. Let’s have a budget that properly funds our national security as well as economic security,” he said. Continue reading “Obama vetoes defense bill, sends it back to Congress”
One person was killed and two others were wounded by gunfire on the campus of Tennessee State University in Nashville late on Thursday, police said.
The shootings, which occurred just before 11 p.m. local time, appeared to have stemmed from a dispute over a dice game in an outdoor courtyard, the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department said. Continue reading “One killed, two hurt in shooting at Tennessee college campus: authorities”

The White House is open to the idea of Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) as the next Speaker of the House, saying the Wisconsin Congressman had worked with the administration on issues they care about in the past.
“The president believes that Congressman Ryan is someone who has given considerable thought to the significant issues that must be worked through in Congress,” White House Deputy Press Secretary Eric Schultz explained during a press briefing this afternoon. Former President Jimmy Carter said recently that he provided maps of Islamic State positions in Syria to the Russian embassy in Washington, a move apparently at odds with the Obama administration’s official policy of not cooperating with Russia in the Syrian war.
Carter said on Sunday in Georgia that he knows Russian President Vladimir Putin “fairly well” because they “have a common interest in fly fishing.” When he met with Putin in April along with other global leaders to discuss the crises in Syria and Ukraine, the Russian president gave him an email address so the two could discuss his “fly fishing experiences, particularly in Russia,” Carter said. DREAMers are shaping up to play a prominent role in next year’s presidential election— at least in the Democratic camp.
Bernie Sanders this week become the second Democratic presidential hopeful to enlist a DREAMer to a high-profile campaign position by hiring Cesar Vargas, an undocumented immigrant who became the first without legal status to be approved to work as a lawyer in New York. Vargas has joined the Sanders campaign’s Latino outreach team. Continue reading “Bernie Sanders’ campaign enlists prominent DREAMer to help win the Latino vote”
PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. (AP) — A black man who was a public housing inspector and part-time drummer was shot three times by a plainclothes police officer near his broken down vehicle on Interstate 95 and never fired his own gun, attorneys for his family said Thursday.
Corey Jones had five wounds — some of them exit wounds — and one shot broke his arm and another entered through Jones’ side and lodged in his upper body, his lawyers said after meeting with the state attorney who is investigating the fatal shooting. Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was confronted Thursday with tough questions by Republicans over the slim diplomatic security in place at the Benghazi compound before the 2012 terror attacks — and repeated unanswered requests by the late Ambassador Chris Stevens for more support — as she testified before the congressional committee probing the attacks.
She faced tough questions from Republicans even as Democratic panel members spent their time trying to discredit the work of the committee itself, describing it as a partisan outfit. But amid claims that the panel has focused too much on Clinton’s personal email use, Republicans tried to focus Thursday on Benghazi. A man wearing a Darth Vader-like mask and armed with a sword went on a rampage at a Swedish elementary school Thursday, killing a teacher and a student. The attacker died later of gunshot wounds inflicted by police who rushed to the scene, authorities said.
The teacher died at the school and the student later succumbed at a nearby hospital, according to officials. Police spokesman Thord Haraldsson said the 21-year-old attacker was fatally shot in the chest by police who responded to the attack at the Kronan school in Trollhattan, near Goteborg, Sweden’s second-largest city. Trollhattan is about 260 miles west-southwest of Stockholm. Continue reading “Man in ‘Star Wars’ mask attacks Swedish school with sword; 2 dead”
Unlike the Department of Justice, Iceland is focusing on prosecuting the CEOs rather than low-level traders.
In a move that would make many capitalists’ head explode if it ever happened here, Iceland just sentenced their 26th banker to prison for their part in the 2008 financial collapse. Continue reading “Iceland sentences 26 bankers to a combined 74 years in prison”

The power structure is beginning to panic as the public wakes up to the criminal climate engineering insanity. The growing police state is completely out of control and becoming unimaginably blatant with their actions. In recent weeks Washington has placed “gag orders” on the following agency employees, “The National Weather Service”, the “National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration”, and the “US Department of Commerce”. This is a massive red flag that should trigger alarm bells everywhere.
Bill Hopkins, the executive president for the National Weather Service employees organization (NWSEO) said this: Continue reading “Government Implements Illegal “Gag Order” On National Weather Service And NOAA Employees”
