The Economic Collapse – by Michael Snyder
If a former Reagan administration official is correct, we are likely to see the next major financial collapse by the end of 2017. According to Wikipedia, David Stockman “is an author, former businessman and U.S. politician who served as a Republican U.S. Representative from the state of Michigan (1977–1981) and as the Director of the Office of Management and Budget (1981–1985) under President Ronald Reagan.” He has been frequently interviewed by mainstream news outlets such as CNBC, Bloomberg and PBS, and he is a highly respected voice in the financial community. Like other analysts, Stockman believes that the U.S. economy is in dire shape, and he told Greg Hunter during a recent interview that he is convinced that the S&P 500 could soon crash “by 40% or even more”… Continue reading “Former Reagan Administration Official Is Warning Of A Financial Collapse Some Time ‘Between August And November’”

A North Carolina congressman is calling for a probe into a potential $418 million contract between Kenya and a major U.S. defense contractor announced on President Obama’s last day in office — a deal the lawmaker claims reeks of cronyism.
Republican Rep. Ted Budd wants the Government Accountability Office to investigate a deal between the African nation and New York-based L3 Technologies for the sale of 12 weaponized border patrol planes. He said he wants to know why a veteran-owned small company in North Carolina – which specializes in making such planes – was not considered as the manufacturer. TEL AVIV – The Trump administration should formally recognize the Golan Heights as sovereign Israeli territory, especially in light of the ongoing war in Syria, Transportation and Intelligence Minister Israel Katz said Sunday.
Katz, who made his remarks at the Jerusalem Post Annual Conference in New York, proposed a five-point memorandum between Israel and the U.S. on the Syrian civil war and its impact on the Jewish state’s security. A former Johnson County deputy pleaded guilty to third-degree sexual assault Thursday and was sentenced to six years of probation, according to court documents.
Robert G. Retford, 55, of Knoxville pleaded guilty to the Class C felony and must register as a sex offender, documents said. As part of his probation, Retford must have no contact with his victim, he must abstain from alcohol and controlled substances, and he must pay various court costs and fines. Three protesters were arrested and charged with disturbing the peace on Sunday afternoon near Lee Circle in New Orleans after a fight broke out at a Confederate monuments demonstration, according to the New Orleans Police Department. WEB Notes: While this is an abomination to our nation and fallen soldiers, on another level this is very fitting. Satan is the only one who has been condemned to death by nation. One of his names is death and Satan will go to the Lake of Fire at the end of the Millennium (Hebrews 2:14,Revelation 20:10,14). This will serve as a good reminder to Satan, your only inheritance is permanent death.

WEB Notes: Bravo to CNS for finally bringing this to light instead of the false unemployment numbers. 94.4 million working age people are not working and more were added to that tally this month. At the same time we were told the unemployment number fell to 4.4%. Common sense tells us the numbers are skewed. Read below and then you do the math and tell me that means 4.4% of the population is without work.

A STATUTE AIMED at suppressing protests against oil and gas pipelines has been signed into law in Oklahoma, as a related bill advances through the state legislature. The two bills are part of a nationwide trend in anti-protest laws meant to significantly increase legal penalties for civil disobedience. The Oklahoma law signed this week is unique, however, in its broad targeting of groups “conspiring” with protesters accused of trespassing. It takes aim at environmental organizations Republicans have blamed for anti-pipeline protests that have become costly for local governments. Should free speech cover criticizing the government? That is kind of the whole point, right?
An Oregon man is suing Portland for violating his first amendment right to free speech after he was fined $500 for calculating how long yellow lights stay yellow and then speaking publicly about it. Continue reading “It’s Not Free Speech if You Don’t Have a License”
Is 18 years in prison without the possibility of parole too harsh for a man arrested with 18 grams of marijuana? The Louisiana Supreme Court’s chief justice thinks so, and she blasted her colleagues for upholding the punishment.
In a withering dissent Wednesday, Chief Justice Bernette Johnson called it “outrageous” and “ridiculous” that the state’s highest court affirmed the lengthy prison sentence for such a small amount of marijuana — enough for at least 18 marijuana cigarettes. When declaring independence from King George III’s tyrannical rule, Thomas Jefferson wrote that men are born with God-given, “unalienable rights,” and the government’s duty is to protect those rights.
This no-doubt comes as news to Senators Chris Murphy (D-CT), Joe Manchin (D-WV), and the whole Democrat Party, almost every member of which is focused on using the expansive powers of government to chip away at God-given rights rather than protect them. While Americans are applauding President Trump’s 180-degree turn from the immigration and border security policies of the Obama years, the president should take time to correct a grievous 10-years-old mistake from the Bush dynasty as well.
I am speaking about the Justice Department’s prosecution — and I would add, persecution — of two Border Patrol agents, Jose Compean and Ignacio Ramos. The case is a good lesson in how the vast powers of the federal government can be deployed for narrow political purposes, not the ends of justice. Most Americans believe that we have a reasonably fair justice system with scholarly judges at the helm. Well, how about a federal judge who suspends the Constitution, confiscates all of a litigant’s assets, orders him not to hire defense counsel, and pronounces his orders enforceable by death?
That’s exactly what federal Judge Royal Furgeson did to Internet pioneer Jeff Baron, in a case that, New York lawyer David Relkin says is “the most outrageous denial of a person’s basic constitutional and human rights in this Country since the abolition of slavery.” Continue reading “Federal Judge Declares Constitution Void, Threatens Civil Defendant With Death”
MORE THAN EIGHT YEARS after President Obama formally ended the CIA’s torture program, the Trump administration is fighting to block the CIA’s new deputy director from providing a deposition about her role in pioneering the agency’s most abusive torture techniques.
The Trump administration appointed Gina Haspel as deputy director of the CIA in February, attracting criticism from human rights advocates due to her former role in abusive interrogations. The move was interpreted as a public sign of the administration’s approval for some of the CIA’s most brutal abuses after the 9/11 attacks. WASHINGTON, D.C. — A review of FBI Director James Comey’s professional history and relationships shows that the Obama cabinet leader — now under fire for his handling of the investigation of Hillary Clinton — is deeply entrenched in the big-money cronyism culture of Washington, D.C. His personal and professional relationships — all undisclosed as he announced the Bureau would not prosecute Clinton — reinforce bipartisan concerns that he may have politicized the criminal probe.
These concerns focus on millions of dollars that Comey accepted from a Clinton Foundation defense contractor, Comey’s former membership on a Clinton Foundation corporate partner’s board, and his surprising financial relationship with his brother Peter Comey, who works at the law firm that does the Clinton Foundation’s taxes.
