Ubiquitous IT giant Google has silently inked a partnership with the Department of Defense to militarize artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies, reinvigorating fears of a Terminator-style apocalyptic scenario.

Google has been secretly working with the Pentagon in order to help its 1,100-strong fleet of drones to detect images, faces, and behavioral patterns, and plans to scour through massive amounts of video footage in order to improve bombing accuracy for autonomous drones. The endgame is to improve combat performance by automating the decision-making process in locating and targeting combatants, The Intercept reported on Tuesday.  Continue reading “All-Seeing Eye: Google working with Pentagon on using AI for drone improvement”

Now that the Olympic torch in PyeongChang has been extinguished and the athletes and fans have gone home, the US is wrestling with its worst performance in 20 years. Could obesity rates be taking a toll on US athletic performance?

On the surface, Team USA’s total haul of 23 medals, which included nine golds, seems rather respectable. It put the United States in fourth place, behind Norway, Germany and Canada. But not everyone went home satisfied, and least of all the US Olympic Committee, which had predicted US athletes would win at least 37 medals.  Continue reading “Fatpocalypse: Is rising obesity contributing to America’s poor Olympic performance?”

WASHINGTON (AP) — For Senate Democrats, voting against the Republican tax cuts that President Donald Trump signed into law wasn’t opposition enough. Now they have a plan to reverse some of the tax breaks for corporations and the wealthiest Americans and put the money instead toward a $1 trillion infrastructure package.

The proposal, being unveiled Wednesday, is more campaign theme than actual legislative agenda, since Republicans hold the majority in Congress. But it stands as an alternative to Trump’s approach to both taxes and spending as his infrastructure blueprint has stalled on Capitol Hill.  Continue reading “Democrats would reverse some tax cuts to fund infrastructure”

The Trump Justice Department filed a lawsuit Tuesday night against California, saying three recently-passed state laws were deliberately interfering with federal immigration policies.

It marked the latest legal and political confrontation with the nation’s most populous state, which the federal government says has repeatedly stood in the way of its plans to step up enforcement actions in the workplace and against criminal aliens.   Continue reading “DOJ sues California over ‘interference’ with immigration enforcement”

The Anti-Defamation League has stated that social media companies YouTube, Twitter and Facebook may use the group’s “Online Hate Index” to detect hate speech on their platforms.

The ADL published a video on their YouTube page recently outlining the use of their new “Online Hate Index.” The video features Brittan Heller, the director of the ADL Center for Technology and Society. Heller explains the goal of the new index is to “help tech platforms better understand the growing amount of hate on social media, and to use that information to address the problem.” The index will reportedly use machine learning, artificial intelligence, and social science to identify trend and patterns in so-called “hate speech.”   Continue reading “YouTube,Twitter and Facebook May Soon Use ADL’s ‘Online Hate Index’ to Detect ‘Hate Speech’ on Platforms”

The White House is gearing up to request that law enforcement and security agencies be allowed to track and shoot down civilian drones, Bloomberg reported. An official told the publication that the effort has been underway for months and it involves a number of US agencies, but didn’t specify many details of the plan.

It’s possible to track, take control of or take down drones using their radio-control signals, but wiretapping rules and aviation regulations prevent law enforcement from using current tools to do so, according to the official. The news emerged during the FAA’s third annual Unmanned Aircraft Systems Symposium in Baltimore this week.  Continue reading “White House wants to let law enforcement disable civilian drones”

Why is this important? Why do we need to know anything about “assault” rifles?

It’s important to be able to combat liberal hysteria. Knowledge is power, and if you’re the one in the room who knows this stuff, the rest will be forced to shut up and listen, or leave, lest they reveal their ignorance. There is nothing more important in discussions like these than to arm oneself with indisputable facts.  Continue reading “Time for a Lesson on the Assault Rifle”

The mainstream media is now claiming that it’s “bullying” to correct a gun control activist when they use the wrong nomenclature while discussing the guns they know almost nothing about. Apparently, being wrong is perfectly acceptable and it’s “mean” if you educate an indoctrinated fool.

The Washington Post‘s literary masterpiece titled “The NRA And Its Allies Use Jargon To Bully Gun Control Supporters” literally tells you all you need to know about the overall direction our country is headed. It’s more acceptable to lobby for laws on things you know absolutely nothing about, but it isn’t ok for those who are educated to point out the incorrect usage of terms by those who desperately want to write the laws controlling others.   Continue reading “Fake News MSM Claims Correcting Gun Control Activists Is ‘Bullying’”

The following is adapted from a speech delivered on January 25, 2018, at Hillsdale College’s Allan P. Kirby, Jr. Center for Constitutional Studies and Citizenship in Washington, D.C., as part of the AWC Family Foundation Lecture Series.

Over the past year, facts have emerged that suggest there was a plot by high-ranking FBI and Department of Justice (DOJ) officials in the Obama administration, acting under color of law, to exonerate Hillary Clinton of federal crimes and then, if she lost the election, to frame Donald Trump and his campaign for colluding with Russia to steal the presidency. This conduct was not based on mere bias, as has been widely claimed, but rather on deeply felt animus toward Trump and his agenda.   Continue reading “The Politicization of the FBI”
