Stephen Hawking, the famed theoretical physicist who defied a diagnosis of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis to live virtually his entire adult life with the disease – in a wheelchair and paralyzed but making constant contributions to a world few could understand – has died at age 76, a family spokesman said.
Although Hawking may have been incapacitated physically, he managed to write books, including the best seller “A Brief History of Time,” teach physics and mathematics, deliver speeches and even float in zero gravity, all while working in the fields of cosmology and quantum gravity. The 5th Circuit Court of Appeals on Tuesday ruled that Senate Bill 4, the state’s so-called sanctuary cities ban, can remain the law of the land in Texas for now, stating that the cities that challenged the law will likely lose in their federal court suit.
Plaintiffs in the case include Austin and most of Texas’ other large cities, which sought to overturn the controversial law. It requires cities and counties to enforce detention requests placed on local jail inmates suspected of illegal immigration.

Coeymans, New York – Multiple police officers are being criticized after a video was posted on Facebook that showed two squad cars racing across an open parking lot and attempting to run over a raccoon.
The video was posted by Bryanna Catucci, and in the caption, she wrote, “Leaving the grocery store to find 2 cops charging at a raccoon in a car for 15 minutes until dead. A local sheriff in Michigan apologized on Tuesday for accidentally leaving, in a middle school locker room, a gun that was later discovered by one of the students.

Police in Austin, Texas, report receiving 150 “suspicious package” calls from terrified residents after three bomb explosions killed two people and injured two more. The “related” blasts occurred within a two-week period.
Austin Interim Police Chief Brian Manley told reporters Tuesday morning that his department received 150 calls from concerned citizens about “suspicious packages.” None of the calls resulted in finding additional explosive devices, the Austin American-Statesman reported. Baltimore ranks high on the “shithole” list for its widespread death and destruction. The city’s population hit a 100-year low in 2017, as residents are fleeing neighborhoods to escape the violent crime. The federal government stepped in last year at the request of the mayor to get the city under control. Intelligent agencies are circling above with light aircraft using optics and other spy-tech to monitor residents, meanwhile, a network of cameras on the city streets use facial recognition software to track citizen. Congressmen Alex Mooney (R-WV) criticized the United States Mint for its “disappointing and concerning” lack of awareness or action on the growing problem of high-quality counterfeits of U.S. precious-metals coins entering the country from China and elsewhere.
In a letter dated March 6, Rep. Mooney took the U.S. Mint to task on its perfunctory one-page response to a prior letter that he and Congressman Frank Lucas sent last October asking for information as to whether, and to what extent, the U.S. Mint has taken proactive steps to protect the integrity of America’s minted coins, including reviewing and implementing the anti-counterfeiting measures already put in place by certain foreign government and private mints. Thousands of shoes were placed on the lawn of the Capitol building in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday morning as part of a protest against school shootings.

For the first time, the Defense Department will begin moving classified data and applications to Amazon Web Services’ Secret Region—the same cloud environment developed for the CIA and intelligence community several years ago.
U.S. Transportation Command—the part of the department responsible for moving troops and equipment around the globe—announced its intent to make use of AWS’ Classified Secret Commercial Cloud Services in December after the company expanded its capabilities and availability to non-intelligence agencies.
