HOUSTON, Texas—Breitbart Texas has learned that a story released yesterday by the Associated Press (AP), and subsequently picked up by other news outlets across Texas, is not correct. While there are Texas National Guardsmen on the border, they are not part of the Texas controlled deployment of 1,000 members of the Texas National Guard (TNG).
Yesterday, the AP reported that the deployment of TNG forces had begun as part of Texas Governor Rick Perry’s deployment of 1,000 soldiers to a portion of the Rio Grande Sector of the Texas-Mexico Border. Subsequent to the AP’s report, several media outlets across Texas picked up the story. The outlets quoted TNG Master Sergeant Ken Walker as saying that several dozen soldiers deployed in the Rio Grande Valley are part of the up to 1,000 troops called up by Perry last month. The extreme militarization of American police forces has been brought to public attention by the tactics employed against Occupy protesters, which often appear more appropriate to counter-terrorism operations than to the control of non-violent protest. According to investigative journalist Max Blumenthal, however, the proper term for this ruthless suppression of dissent should be “Israelification.” Continue reading “Flashback – Report: Israeli model underlies militarization of U.S. police”
DALLAS, Texas — Room 1060 at the Earl Cabell Federal Building in downtown Dallas was the most compassionate place on earth, Monday, August 11, for minors who were in the various stages of the legal process for “Hearings on Removal Procedures” because they entered the United States through Texas illegally. Pinal County, AZ Sheriff Paul Babeu said that when his deputies turn individuals that they suspect are in the county illegal over to ICE, the agency doesn’t verify that the suspect is in the country legally.
“The troubling part of this is that when we do call ICE, what they say is ‘well, the person has been here five years,’ nothing confirming or finding out or verifying this, ‘treat them as any other citizen,’ and then we release them” he said on Wednesday’s “On the Record” on the Fox News Channel. A severe drought affecting Brazil’s biggest city has led to a “water war” that could cause the water supply to collapse in parts of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.
Authorities in São Paulo have been battling a water crisis for months as reservoirs run dry for lack of rainfall.
Earlier this month, the state energy company in São Paulo (Cesp) asked the national operator of the electric system (ONS) to reduce the water flow at the Jaguari hydro-electric dam on the Rio Paraíba do Sul from 40,000 litres per second to 10,000 litres per second.
CONAKRY (Reuters) – Staff with the World Health Organisation battling an Ebola outbreak in West Africa see evidence the numbers of reported cases and deaths vastly underestimates the scale of the outbreak, the U.N. agency said on its website on Thursday.
The death toll from the world’s worst outbreak of Ebola stood on Wednesday at 1,069 from 1,975 confirmed, probable and suspected cases, the agency said. The majority were in Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia, while four people have died in Nigeria. Continue reading “Evidence suggests Ebola toll vastly underestimated: WHO”
The Secret Service said it is “aware” of a photo that appeared to show an image of an ISIS flag in front of the White House.
If authentic, the photo showed a hand holding up an image of a flag for ISIS (also known as ISIL or Islamic State), displayed on a smartphone, on Pennsylvania Avenue in front of the White House fence. That area, closed off to street traffic, is frequented by thousands of tourists every day. Continue reading “Secret Service ‘Aware’ of Apparent ISIS Flag Photo in Front of the White House”
Missoula, MT –-(Ammoland.com)- A Missoulian story about aspirant for the Democrat nomination for U.S. Senate (to replace withdrawn Walsh), Amanda Curtis of Butte, has her portraying herself as a supporter of the Second Amendment.

If Ferguson, Missouri, looks like a war zone, that may be because its police force is armed to the teeth with military equipment. In photographs from this week’s protests, officers can be seen toting assault rifles, wearing gas masks and body armour loaded with extra ammunition magazines, and riding around in mine-resistant armoured personnel carriers.
