San Diego, CA– Ian Anderson, of San Diego, is heartbroken after his 6-year-old service dog, Burberry, was shot and killed by a police officer outside his home in Pacific Beach on Sunday morning.

Cleveland, Ohio – 59-year-old Ricky Jackson was recently awarded $1 million for spending 39 years in jail for a crime that he did not commit.

Jackson spent more time in jail than any other exonerated person in US history.

ADEN, Yemen (AP) — Yemeni security officials say al-Qaida’s branch in the country has taken control of a southern city after security forces surrendered.

The officials say that al-Qaida militants driving pickup trucks and flying black flags on Friday swept through the city of al-Houta, the capital of Lahj province. A body pulled from a New Jersey river late Wednesday afternoon has been identified as the 55-year-old Wall Street Journal reporter who disappeared more than a year ago while out on a walk, authorities say.

Federal Communications Commissioners testifying before Congress Wednesday admitted that the agency’s new net neutrality rules give the FCC the authority to influence rates charged by Internet service providers.

All five commissioners appeared before a Senate panel Wednesday afternoon to testify on a number of issues currently before the FCC, including its newly adopted Internet authority. WASHINGTON, March 18 (UPI) — The FBI is probing into possible Chinese military involvement in a data breach of Register.com, a network that manages more than 1.4 million website addresses.

Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz is taking on another fraught political debate, with his company launching a new initiative this week to get employees to discuss with customers the state of race relations in the United States.

A letter sent to the White House is suspected to contain cyanide and further tests will be conducted to confirm suspicions.

The initial tests indicated that there was no cyanide present, according to the Secret Service, but the second round of testing returned a “presumptive positive” result.
