Deming, NM — 74-year-old Roger Charlet recently died in a hospital just a week after police used a taser on him during a traffic stop. On January 4th, Charlet was pulled over by police on Interstate 10 and was accused of being drunk. He was quickly ripped from his car and tased without being given any chance to comply and leave willingly. Police claim that he was “resisting arrest,” however, the video clearly shows that he was not a threat and had no chance of getting away.

Peter Simonson, Executive Director for the ACLU of New Mexico told KRQE that the video clearly shows the officer was in the wrong.   Continue reading “Appalling Video Shows Cowardly Cop Taser a Non-Violent 74-Year-old Man, Leading to His Death”

It now looks like the catastrophic Porter Ranch gas leak, which has spewed more than 83,000 metric tons of noxious methane for nearly three months, has spread across Los Angeles’s San Fernando Valley.

On Wednesday, Los Angeles City Councilman Mitchell Englander called on the Southern California Gas Co. to extend residential relocation assistance to residents in Granada Hills, Chatsworth and Northridge who live near the Aliso Canyon gas leak above Porter Ranch. These residents reported symptoms related to the exposure of natural gas such as nausea, vomiting, headaches and respiratory problems.   Continue reading “Porter Ranch Methane Leak Spreads Across LA’s San Fernando Valley”

The solar system appears to have a new ninth planet. Today, two scientists announced evidence that a body nearly the size of Neptune—but as yet unseen—orbits the sun every 15,000 years. During the solar system’s infancy 4.5 billion years ago, they say, the giant planet was knocked out of the planet-forming region near the sun. Slowed down by gas, the planet settled into a distant elliptical orbit, where it still lurks today.    Continue reading “Astronomers say a Neptune-sized planet lurks beyond Pluto”

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton once said that Wall Street did not cause the mortgage crisis that led to the financial collapse, and she also partly blamed poor people who took out mortgages that they could not afford.

Video of Clinton’s December 2007 speech at New York City’s NASDAQ stock market could provide fuel both for her left-wing opponent Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and also for Republicans.   Continue reading “2007 Video: Hillary Clinton To Wall Street: Financial Crisis Is Not Your Fault, Home Buyers To Blame”

As regular readers are by now acutely aware, Europeans are growing increasingly frustrated with officials’ response to the bloc’s worst refugee crisis since World War II.

To be sure, some countries were skeptical from the very beginning. Take Hungary for example, whose firebrand PM Viktor Orban built a series of migrant-be-gone fences late last summer and defended them with tear gas and water cannons.   Continue reading “Caught On Tape: 1,000 Dutch Villagers Storm Town Hall In Anti-Migrant Melee”
