This weekend an edition of La Voz de Houston was delivered gratis to my address. Circulation of this twice weekly publication is claimed to be approximately 400,000, targeting Latinos of the area.

I don’t speak Spanish, but looking at the front-page headline, “Texas Milicias en la frontera: arma de doble filo,” I realized I had been given an instructive piece of mixed fact and propaganda aimed at the Houston metro Latino population and with it the opportunity to share it with the FTTWR community.

News 4 St. Louis is reporting “at least 100 cop cars and numerous officers armed with M-16’s in the area” after an incident on Saturday.

Police have confirmed that one person is dead after a officer-involved shooting at the Canfield Green apartment complex, according to Fox 2 Now.

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — One of the largest ranches in the U.S. and an icon for Texas horse and cattlemen has been listed for $725 million, marking the end of a decades-long courtroom battle among the heirs of cattle baron W.T. Waggoner, who established the estate in 1923.

HOUSTON, Texas—Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal (R) paid a visit to the Rio Grande Valley in Texas to witness first-hand, the ongoing invasion of illegal immigrants into Texas. During the Governor’s visit to Texas he witnessed at least three incidents where people were crossing the border illegally. Gov. Jindal was accompanied by Colonel Mike Edmonson, Louisiana State Police Superintendent and Louisiana House Speaker Chuck Kleckley (R-Lake Charles).

During his visit, Jindal received a status of the border briefing from the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS). Guns Save Lives – by Dan Cannon

A homeowner in Kansas City, Missouri used a firearm to stop a home invasion earlier this week. The incident occurred in the 400 block of Newton Avenue about 9:40 a.m.

The homeowner managed to shoot one of the suspects, striking him in the leg. Just when we thought this nightmare couldn’t get any worse, now we find out that Monsanto has invested $1.5 Million in the Canadian pharmaceutical company for “specific development” of the agriculture RNAi project.    The press release states:

The development milestone is part of the research program under the Option Agreement Tekmira signed with the agriculture company, which we announced on January 13, 2014. The Option Agreement relates to Tekmira’s proprietary delivery technology and intellectual property for use in agricultural applications. PEARLAND, Texas —A pilot’s mistake caused more than 350 members of the Pearland High school marching band to be doused with pesticide.

According to the Pearland ISD, the band students were outside around 8 a.m. Thursday when the Brazoria County Mosquito Control District airplane flew over the school and sprayed the practice lot with pesticide.
