NEW YORK (AP) — A day after over 100,000 people marched to warn that climate change is destroying the Earth, more than 1,000 activists blocked parts of Broadway in Manhattan’s financial district in a sit-in to protest what they see as corporate and economic institutions’ role in the climate crisis.

Monday’s demonstration was planned as a more confrontational sequel to Sunday’s march, with many participants Monday deliberately risking arrest by obstructing traffic in the heart of the nation’s financial capital. Over 100 people, including a person wearing a white polar bear suit, were arrested Monday night after they refused to leave Broadway near Wall Street, police said. Most of the arrests were for disorderly conduct.   Continue reading “100 arrested at Wall Street climate crisis sit-in”

JERUSALEM (AP) — Israeli special forces stormed a West Bank hideout early on Tuesday and killed two Palestinians suspected in the June abduction and slaying of three Israeli teenagers, a gruesome attack that had triggered a chain of events that led to the war in Gaza this summer.

The deaths of the two suspects, identified by the Israeli military as well-known Hamas militants, ended one of the largest manhunts conducted by the Israeli security forces. Eyal Yifrah, 19, Gilad Shaar, 16, and Naftali Fraenkel, a 16-year-old with dual Israeli-American citizenship, were abducted on June 12 while hitchhiking home in the West Bank and killed soon afterward.   Continue reading “Hamas suspects in slaying of Israeli teens killed”

Israel shot down a Syrian warplane on Tuesday, saying the aircraft crossed the battle lines of Syria’s civil war and flew over the Israeli-held Golan Heights, perhaps by accident.

The incident coincided with but did not appear to be directly related to air strikes the United States and Gulf Arab allies mounted on Islamic State strongholds in Syria.   Continue reading “Israel downs Syrian warplane it says violated its Golan airspace”

NJ.com, a consortium of reliably left-wing newspapers in the Garden State, has published an op-ed calling for the scrapping of the Second Amendment:

Having fewer guns lying around could mean they won’t end up in the hands of a curious child, abusive spouse or suicidal person. Having a gun at home makes it three times more likely that you’ll be murdered by a family member or intimate partner, or successfully attempt suicide. 5 Things Only Seasoned Hunters Know About Mature BucksWide Open Spaces – by  Brad Smith

Every deer hunter can agree that mature bucks are just… different.

Every year deer hunters take to the woods attempting to harvest their buck of a lifetime. Fairly quickly, plan B usually takes hold and filling their tags becomes the primary goal by the end of the season.

Most hunters might get just one chance at seeing a mature buck as they are out hunting, but getting that buck within range of a firearm or bow is a different matter of chance altogether.   Continue reading “5 Things Only Seasoned Hunters Know About Mature Bucks”

“When you and I die, our kids aren’t going to go to our tombstones, they’re going to fire up our digital twins and talk to them,” John Smart tells Business Insider.

As a futurist and founder of the Acceleration Studies Foundation, Smart uses many names for the technology he predicts — digital twin, cyber-self, personal agent — but the concept stays the same: a computer-based version of you.   Continue reading “In 5 Years, We Could All Have ‘Digital Twins’ That Make Decisions For Us”

On Monday, Vice President Joe Biden promised that President Barack Obama would “do an awful lot” for illegal immigrants with executive actions toward amnesty. He said if Republicans don’t “see the lord” on immigration after the midterm elections, then they will feel some “lightning.”

According to pool reports, Biden spoke at a Hispanic Heritage Month reception at his residence and reportedly called up a student who had received temporary amnesty due to Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. Biden then said that Obama is going to enact executive amnesty before the end of the year if Congress does not pass comprehensive immigration reform, “and he’s going to do an awful lot.” He said Obama has a chance to change the country “in a way like we haven’t had for a long, long time.”   Continue reading “Biden Promises Obama Will Strike GOP with ‘Lightning’ via Executive Amnesty”

Central American children immigrantsLatin Times

While the U.S. government acknowledges that there is still a lot to do about the crisis of Central American children entering the country, experts and activists believe that sooner rather than later a new wave of unaccompanied youngsters will arrive at the border with Mexico.
” The situation in Central America hasn’t changed, we have the same problems of insecurity and violence, the lack of governability continues and jobs are still a problem – there is no work for young people who are members of cartels or street gangs,” the director of the Americas Program of the Center for Strategic and International Studies, Carl Meacham, told Efe on Thursday.

UPDATE 1. Sept. 21, 2014

People who doubt or even deny until they drop that the 2014 ebola outbreak is being manufactured/scripted along the way as they, the UN, see it necessary in order to keep the world population fooled enough and the pockets and private bank account of Ban ki Moon filled royally enough, answer this question.

If the death rate for ebola is about 50-90% and if there is no cure for ebola then how is it possible that 75% of the alleged patients in the FIRST epicenter, in Guinea, of the outbreak have recovered (Bloomberg, July 29, 2014)?   Continue reading “The 2014 Ebola Outbreak is a Proven Fraud”
