A black New York woman is suing the city and a hospital after being injected with heavy drugs and forced to spend eight days in a psych ward – all because police did not believe she owned a BMW. She was slapped with a $13,000 hospital bill upon release.

Three teenagers were arrested in Arizona for allegedly using a slingshot and rocks to attack pedestrians and cars, in an incident officials described as a “copycat” to a string of shootings along a nearby freeway.

Two fast-moving fires have scorched more than 100,000 acres in Northern California, forcing thousands to flee their homes and injuring firefighters struggling to contain the flames.

California Gov. Jerry Brown declared a state of emergency Sunday in Lake and Napa counties after the Valley Fire, which started Saturday afternoon northwest of Sacramento, continued to grow. If she were anything other than a member of the LGBT community, Jennifer Cramblett would be branded as a racist. But as she is a lesbian, the Washington Post matter-of-factly writes that Cramblett, who is white, sued Midwest Sperm Bank in 2014 for artificially inseminating her with sperm from the wrong donor, which resulted in her giving birth to a mixed-race daughter. The donor, as she discovered only after her daughter was born in 2011, was a black man. FOX LAKE, Ill. (AP) — New details are emerging more than week after the shooting death of a northern Illinois police officer sparked a manhunt for three suspects and a national outpouring of grief.

An official said Friday the officer had been shot twice. Israeli nuclear whistleblower Mordechai Vanunu, who exposed details of Israel’s secretive nuclear site in 1986, has been placed under house arrest for violating the terms of his release from prison over a decade ago.

Poorer nations suffering from extreme weather disasters, so much so that their citizens are seeking refuge in safer terrains outside their borders, want rich nations like the United States to pay for reparations and to relocate populations.

Preparatory talks ahead of the United Nations Conference on Climate Change to be held in Paris in December has representatives from developing nations asking for more than an already agreed upon $100 billion per year for climate change mitigation measures. They want additional compensation for weather-related disasters as well as a “displacement coordination facility” for refugees. (Reuters) – A U.S. judge declared a mistrial on Friday in the case of an Alabama policeman on trial for violating an Indian man’s rights by throwing him to the ground and injuring him badly during an encounter captured on video, local media reported.

With the mainstream media’s newest “War on Cops” slogan you would think there was rise in police killings across the country. According to a Rasmussen poll taken last week 58% of respondents believe there is actually a war on cops. But according to Officer Down Memorial Page quite the opposite is true. Police in the line of duty deaths are down %6 and gun related deaths while on duty are down 27% so far for the year 2015. While this year is not over yet, it looks as if this “war on cops” has been on a decade long decline. In fact gun related deaths have been on the decline for each decade since the 70s. About 48 hours before his lifeless body was found hanging by the neck from a blue rope tied to a pool table at his home, ex-MCSO deputy Ramon “Charley” Armendariz told a group of friends and neighbors that he was a planning a press conference where he would “expose the sheriff’s office,” for some unspecified misdeeds.
