JERUSALEM (Reuters) – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s wife, Sara, appeared in court on Sunday for the first hearing in the fraud trial against her, in which she is alleged to have misused state funds in ordering catered meals.
According to the indictment filed in June, Sara Netanyahu, along with a government employee, fraudulently obtained from the state more than $100,000 for hundreds of meals supplied by restaurants, bypassing regulations that prohibit the practice if a cook is employed at home. From Fredericksburg last night, as reported in the wee hours this morning, 50 bobtail trucks convoyed up I-95 and into downtown D.C., lining wide gravel walking paths along the National Mall between 4th and 7th streets, facing the Capitol Building. Inside, attention was no doubt focused on prospects for the nomination of Supreme Court judge Brett Kavanaugh, as it has been for weeks now, though plenty participants among owner-operators here did manage to take meetings with their reps and Senators, and more meetings are sure to follow.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is expected to sign an order extending the secrecy of the information stored in the security services’ archives from 70 to 90 years, including the Deir Yassin massacre carried out by Zionist gangs in the Nakba.

Mattress Firm filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on Friday and is expected to close a little more than 200 stores as soon as the next few days.
The largest mattress retailer in the U.S. has roughly 3,500 locations today. It hopes to restructure its business in bankruptcy court and get out of many unwanted leases. The company said it plans to close roughly 700 of its stores in total, and hopes to complete a prepackaged restructuring within 45 to 60 days. One of the nation’s largest gun suppliers has donated nine semi-automatic AR-15 rifles to school resources officers in Bismarck, North Dakota, helping police in the state’s capital fulfill a request for additional firepower to protect students.
In August, the Bismarck Police Department submitted a budget proposal that included nearly $26,000 to purchase new rifles, gun safes, bulletproof vests and medical kits to treat gunshot wounds. The cost was supposed to be split evenly between the school district and police department, but the county said it wouldn’t pay for the AR-15s themselves, according to The Bismarck Tribune. The TSA is using facial recognition technology with a “biometric confirmation” rate of 85% for testing purposes at airports.
