West Melbourne, FL — Dramatic cell phone video has emerged of a police involved death this month that took place in broad daylight in front of dozens of witnesses inside a Publix grocery store.
Last Monday, Donald Edward Whitmer Jr. became unresponsive after police placed him in a choke hold and began tasering him. During the altercation, Whitmer lost consciousness and moments later he would be pronounced dead. FRANKFURT/WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Bayer (BAYGn.DE) won U.S. antitrust approval for its planned takeover of Monsanto (MON.N) on condition that it sells about $9 billion in assets, the Justice Department said on Tuesday, clearing a major hurdle for the $62.5 billion deal.

The Israeli military, enforcing a naval blockade of the Gaza Strip, have prevented two Palestinian boats from reaching the open sea. The attempt was part of a wider Palestinian protest against Israeli policies in Gaza.
On Tuesday dozens of small motor boats and two larger vessels carrying 17 people departed from a seaport in Gaza Strip. Their stated goal was to break out of the Israeli-enforced naval blockade of the area and travel to an undisclosed location. Transgender people are being encouraged to join the clergy in new Church of England guidance on “honouring LGBT+ people”, aimed at fighting the church’s reputation as “homophobic”.
Claiming young people are put off by “the perception that the Church is homophobic and transphobic”, church leaders said it is vital to challenge this with celebration of the “great contribution” sexual minorities have made to church life, and for outreach “within the LGBT+ community more broadly”. Jesse Duplantis, the Destrehan-based prosperity gospel televangelist with a global reach, is asking disciples for money to buy a jet that costs $54 million “so we can go anywhere in the world in one stop.” He seeks the donations in a video posted last week on his ministry’s website.

An NYPD officer wants $5 million for emotional anguish after two cops pulled over his car and arrested him without cause, according to Manhattan court documents.

Sometimes, even regular journalists, who are used to write about bad stuff as much as writing about good news, face nasty events that have to be documented, registered and broadcasted.
It´s my guess that writers develop, on time, a thick layer of skin to resist all the things they see and experience. I am not used to some of the gross reality checks that I have found as collateral damage of this collapse. After becoming a father, some kind of internal re-wiring changes in the brain structure. Journalists, Obama’s former speechwriter and other public figures all quietly deleted their misplaced horror at images of caged migrant children in the US when they found out the picture was taken under President Obama.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Nearly two years after a trip to meet the woman he loved turned into an imprisonment in a Venezuelan jail, an exhausted but grateful Utah man arrived home with his wife. JERUSALEM (AP) — Israeli jets bombed Gaza hours after militants from the territory on Tuesday fired more than 25 mortar shells toward communities in southern Israel in what appeared to be the largest single barrage since the 2014 Israel-Hamas war.

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (AP) — A man died after exchanging gunfire with Bureau of Land Management law enforcement officers in western Colorado.
Mesa County officials say two BLM rangers were checking on a white van parked on BLM property in the Bookcliffs area north of Grand Junction Sunday afternoon when the man fired at officers, hitting one in his protective vest. An employee closing up shop at a Little Caesars restaurant in Florida on Saturday night shot and killed a man in a clown mask after he was attacked with a wooden post, according to authorities.
Police in Holly Hill, Florida, said the employee exited the back door of the pizza place just before midnight when a man in a grotesque clown mask jumped him with a wooden post. According to the police report, the post broke over the man’s back, upon which the attacker tried to stab the employee with a pair of scissors.
