The Defense Department has relinquished over $27 billion to the U.S. Treasury since 2013 simply because it couldn’t spend the money quick enough, according to a DOD Inspector General report released Tuesday.

The DOD was required to fork over the “expired funds” because the Pentagon failed to spend it “within the legal time frames,” according to the report.   Continue reading “DOD IG Reveals The Pentagon Let $27.7 Billion ‘Expire’As Trump Seeks $5.7 Billion In Border Wall Funding”

HIDALGO, Texas (AP) — As President Donald Trump travels to the border in Texas to make the case for his $5.7 billion wall , landowner Eloisa Cavazos says she knows firsthand how the project will play out if the White House gets its way.

The federal government has started surveying land along the border in Texas and announced plans to start construction next month. Rather than surrender their land, some property owners are digging in, vowing to reject buyout offers and preparing to fight the administration in court.   Continue reading “As Trump visits border, Texas landowners prepare wall fight”

Wide Open Eats – by Maria Christina LaLonde

Humans have been eating roadkill since the first ox cart flattened a critter in ancient Mesopotamia thousands of years ago. Today, you can find “roadkill cuisine” simmering on stovetops in kitchens across the U.S. Animal rights activists and foodies alike hail roadkill as one of the most ethical and environmentally friendly meats. Advocates point out that these animals were not raised or killed for food, and argue eating roadkill makes use of a valuable free-range protein source that would otherwise go to waste.   Continue reading “You Can Harvest Roadkill for Food if You Live in One of These 27 States”

A sculpture celebrating Saudi Arabia’s place in the G20 Summit was erected on the World Trade Center grounds last week, a stone’s throw away from the 9/11 memorial.

Shaped to resemble a piece of candy, the nine-foot-tall statue bears the Kingdom’s emerald flag emblazoned with the Arabic inscription, “There is no god but Allah, and Mohammed is the prophet.” It was created by French sculptor Laurence Jenkell in 2011 as part of the larger installation “Candy Nation” which depicts G20 countries as sugary delights, and has since been featured in over 25 countries. All 20 sculptures are currently on display outside the Oculus shopping center.   Continue reading “A Sculpture Celebrating Saudi Arabia Has Been Erected on Ground Zero”

The Organic Prepper – by Meadow Clark

When planned obsolescence goes too far, the people of the Right to Repair want the right to…repair things.  They aren’t fighting back with pitchforks and torches, but rather, screwdrivers and torch lights.

As a prepper, having supplies that last and are able to be repaired can only be a good thing. And part of the reasons it’s so difficult to reduce our consumerism is that everything just keeps breaking on us.   Continue reading “The “Right to Repair” Movement Is Fighting Planned Obsolescence”

Warning! This article might at first glance appear to be depressing but there are solutions to these problems. But first we must get angry enough to do something. Wall Street despises us. Never forget that.

The people who own the government deliberately over populated America. Study the writings of Leon Walras and Wassily Leontieff. The latter won a Nobel Prize in economics for his study of the American economy. He studied the inputs and outputs of American industry. Starting with an extractive industry like mining which outputs coal and iron. These outputs become inputs to the making of steel as an output. This steel in turn becomes an input to the making of cars and washing machines.   Continue reading “Over Population: One Their Plans To Destroy Us.”

An incredible, but late, distinction and well-placed honor has been awarded to one of the preeminent whistleblowers in history, the now-87-year-old Daniel Ellsberg, who blew the whistle about what became known as the Pentagon Papers[1].

Ellsberg’s late-coming honor was for his “profound humanism and exceptional moral courage,”revealing successive U.S. administrations had lied to the public about the Vietnam War.   Continue reading “How Times Have Changed: Pentagon Papers Whistleblower Daniel Ellsberg Wins The 2018 Olof Palme Human Rights Prize—48 Years Later”

What’s for dinner tonight? If you live in Oregon, it could well be that deer you hit on your way home from work thanks to a recently implemented law making it legal to harvest your roadkill in the state.

The bill was sponsored by Oregon state senator Bill Hansell, who was inspired by driving past a dead deer on the side of the road in his large rural district. He felt it was a shame to let it go to waste, so he put forth the bill that has now made Oregon one of roughly 20 states that permit harvesting roadkill for food.   Continue reading “Oregon just legalized the harvesting of roadkill for food”
