FRANKFORT, Ky. (WKYT) – The environmental fallout of the Jim Beam bourbon warehouse fire continues along the Kentucky River, as large numbers of dead fish are now floating downstream.

Austin officials are facing a major backlash after a vote that would permit the city’s homeless population to sleep or camp in any public area — with few exceptions, such as City Hall.

A 10-person flash mob made off with up to $30,000 worth of merchandise from a North Face store in Wisconsin this week.

The American media will be hit with nearly 12,000 job cuts in 2019, the highest number since the economic crisis of 2009.
“The consultancy Challenger Gray & Christmas reported this week media companies, which include movies, television, publishing, music, and broadcast and print news, announced plans to cut 15,474 jobs so far this year, of which 11,878 of which were from news organizations” reports AFP. A woman in Lufkin, Texas, walked into her local Walmart, opened a container of Blue Bell, licked the ice cream and then put the container back in the freezer. Now, she faces up to 20 years in prison.

Oregon lawmakers have voted to grant the state’s undocumented residents drivers’ licenses, amid a nationwide push to do so in response to data indicating that minor traffic violations are landing immigrants in deportation proceedings.

While the headline payrolls number was stellar, coming in higher than even the most optimistic Wall Street forecast, one aspect of today’s jobs report that will likely become a major talking point for Democrats and other critics of the Trump economy, is that the number of multiple-jobholders soared from 7.855 million to 8.156 million, a monthly surge of 301,000 – the biggest since July 2018, and an indication that the jobs number was far weaker than the headline represents if one excludes all those workers who represented two jobs to the BLS’ various surveys. One person was killed and several others suffered minor injuries from a lightning strike in South Carolina on Thursday, officials said.
The person who was killed was under a tree at Lawshe Plantation in Georgetown County when the lightning hit, according to Georgetown County Fire and EMS officials. The National Weather Service had issued a severe thunderstorm warning for the area at the time of the strike. Critics of President Donald Trump were flying high Thursday after his jaw-dropping gaffe in his Independence Day speech that the brave U.S. Army took over airports during the Revolutionary War.
Trump, clearly reading from a teleprompter, talked about how the Continental Congress in 1775 “created a unified Army out of the Revolutionary Forces encamped around Boston and New York.” The army suffered a “bitter winter of Valley Forge, found glory across the waters of the Delaware and seized victory from Cornwallis of Yorktown,” Trump said.
