ALBANY, N.Y. (CN) – In another blow to gun rights groups in New York state, a federal judge on Monday dismissed a lawsuit from two gun owners seeking to overturn the state’s tight restrictions on concealed-carry licenses.

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. — Eleven police officers in a suburb of Washington, D.C., have been suspended after two off-duty officers were wounded in what police believe to be an accidental shooting at a holiday party.

It’s downright wintry on Wall Street right now. Firmly establishing the worst start of a December for the US stock market in 38 years, all three major stock indices plumbed the greatest depths they have hit all year … and it’s been a bad year! The S&P 500 and the Nasdaq closed at 2,546 and 6,754 respectively. The Dow closed down 504 points to rest at 23,593. If it closes the tiniest nudge lower to a point it hit midday today, it will establish the worst start to a December since the Great Depression. Moreover, the market fell on swelling volume at a time of year (Santa-Claus-rally-time) when volume of trading is supposed to decrease. A union president Monday demanded that Mayor de Blasio reinstate and apologize to two city peace officers suspended over a confrontation at a welfare office that ended with NYPD cops pulling a baby from his mother’s arms.
Greg Floyd, president of Teamsters Local 237, blasted the mayor’s criticism of the two Human Resources Administration peace officers who were involved in a Dec. 7 tussle with Jazmine Headley at a welfare office in Brooklyn that wound up in a viral video.

A 1974 New York state ban on nunchucks that was put into place over fears that youth inspired by martial arts movies would create widespread mayhem is unconstitutional under the 2nd Amendment, a federal court has ruled.
Judge Pamela Chen issued her ruling Friday in a Brooklyn federal court on the martial arts weapon made famous by Bruce Lee.

Pittsburgh Mayor William Peduto (D) is pushing firearm confiscation orders, bans on commonly-owned semiautomatic firearms and “high capacity” magazines.
Following the October 27 attack on the gun and security-free Tree of Life Synagogue, Peduto voiced opposition to hiring armed guards to protect congregants. A Tennessee mother unloaded 34 rounds of ammunition into her four children, killing them all before turning the gun on herself, according to newly released autopsy reports.
Cynthia Collier, 55, brutally killed her adopted kids, Kaileigh Lin Collier, 17, Lia Lin Collier, 15, Bo Li Collier and Meigan Lin Collier, both 14, in October in what police have called a murder-suicide. Police in Ohio are warning Netflix customers to beware of emails that appear to be sent from the streaming service.
