Today I received an obvious phishing scam sent by someone posing as an IRS agent.  What I did was NOT open the link provided – supposedly about my tax return – but turned the tables on them.  I sent them a reply email, which told them they were a scam artist who belonged in jail and I cc’d the IRS on the same email.

I received back from the real U.S. IRS an email acknowledging my phishing scam report which contained information I want to share with my readers so you don’t get caught in phishing scam artists’ very tricky ploy and scare tactic of using the IRS, which most people would probably cave about and click on the link.  Continue reading “Consumer Alert Regarding IRS Phishing Scam Via Email”

A Border Patrol agent has been shot in the Tucson Sector. Breitbart Texas learned of the shooting from sources and Border Patrol officials later confirmed the incident.

Tucson Sector spokesman Chris Sullivan confirmed to Breitbart Texas in a phone interview that an agent had been shot. With sandy beaches and warm water year-round, Salton Sea in California was the perfect family getaway of the 1950s and 60s. It attracted Hollywood’s elite – Rock Hudson water-skied there, Frank Sinatra and Jerry Lewis visited their friend Guy Lombardo’s yacht which was moored there. The Beach Boys were members of the North Shore yacht club, Sonny Bono was a visitor and President Dwight Eisenhower golfed there.

Business was booming – hotels, motels, casinos and yacht clubs popped up along the lake’s 116-mile shoreline helping to create enclaves including Bombay Beach and Salton City. On Tuesday the Second Amendment Foundation (SAF) secured an injunction blocking Deerfield, Illinois, pending “assault weapons” ban.

On April 3, 2018, Breitbart News reported that Deerfield was not only banning said weapons but empowering its chief of police to confiscate them and destroy them. He would also be empowered to confiscate and destroy “high capacity” magazines. On April 5, 2018, Breitbart News reported that SAF filed suit against Deerfield, claiming the village’s “assault weapons” ban violated Illinois’ preemption law. Millions of dollars in additional federal money may soon flow to the Port of Corpus Christi’s project to widen and deepen its ship channel to allow tankers to leave the port with larger loads of crude from Texas oil fields.

As US intelligence services struggle to store the trove of data collected during its snooping operations, a team of researchers are developing radical new storage technology based on an unusual model – human DNA.

SEATTLE (AP) — A tax on large companies such as Amazon that was meant to fight a growing homelessness crisis got rolled back during a raucous Seattle City Council meeting that exposed divisions over how much companies that have fueled booming economies should help pay to alleviate the downsides of success.

A divided crowd chanted, jeered and booed at the meeting, drowning out city leaders as they cast a 7-2 vote Tuesday. SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — California voters’ decision to reduce penalties for drug and property crimes in 2014 contributed to a jump in car burglaries, shoplifting and other theft, researchers reported.

AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) — Maine Republicans and Democrats wrestled Tuesday with new ballots that let them rank some candidates for the first time. The ballots asked voters to fill in ovals to rank gubernatorial candidates and a few legislative and federal hopefuls from first to last.

Maine became the first state to adopt a system called ranked-choice voting, which made its statewide debut in the primary election. What will ranked-choice voting mean for Maine? Some of Maine’s 11 Democratic and Republican candidates hoping to succeed term-limited Republican Gov. After the meeting between North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and US President Donald Trump seemed to end on an optimistic note, one may have hoped that our fears of a nuclear attack would subside. Not so, according to The New Yorker, who published an article entitled, “This Is What a Nuclear Attack on New York Would Look LIke.”

Castoreum is a yellowish, strong-smelling secretion that comes from the castor sacs found near the base of a beaver’s tail. It’s an FDA-approved food additive, and hey, you can now get whiskey that’s flavored with the stuff.

That knowledge comes courtesy of this piece from Food & Wine’s Mike Pomranz, which spotlights a nice little beaver musk whiskey made by Tamworth Distilling of New Hampshire. Fear not, castoreum is an FDA-approved food additive. That’s actually how this spirit came about. Tamworth’s team was looking to develop a new spirit, and in hopes of securing a speedy all-clear from the Alcohol And Tobacco Tax And Trade Bureau, they went straight to the FDA’s list of ingredients that are already considered safe. CONCORD — A retired judge who was found having helped her husband hide money from the state is suing to try and get $400,000 in back retirement pay, health care and a permanent pension of nearly $90,000 a year.

Patricia Coffey stepped down in 2008 after the Supreme Court suspended her for three years without pay for helping her husband, ex-State Rep. Raimundo Atesiano had a statistic to tout at a town council meeting in Biscayne Park, a village of 3,000 in the middle of Florida’s Miami-Dade County.

Farmer Jeffrey Scott Kirschenmann tried to register an AR-15 with the state per California’s latest “assault weapons” ban requirements and ended up having his home raided, firearms confiscated, and faces 12 felony counts.
