Actor James Garner, whose genial charm and sly humor made him a Hollywood fixture for more than 50 years, has died at 86.

The Los Angeles Times and the Associated Press reported his death, citing Los Angeles Police.

Tall and handsome, Garner had the leading-man looks that led to roles in big-screen dramas ranging from 1958’s Darby’s Rangers to 1963’s The Great Escape. Casey Kasem’s body was flown from the funeral home in Tacoma, Washington to a funeral home in Montreal, Canada on July 14, two days before a judge ordered Casey’s widow Jean Kasem to keep the body in Tacoma for an autopsy.

But mysteriously, Casey’s body never arrived.

A representative for Kerri Kasem, Casey’s daughter, has confirmed that her father’s body is missing.

REUTERS – Thousands of pro-Palestinian protesters marched in French cities on Saturday to condemn violence in Gaza, defying a ban imposed after demonstrators marched on two synagogues in Paris last weekend and clashed with riot police.

As many as 100 passengers on board Malaysian Airlines flight MH17 were bound for the 20th International AIDS Conference in Melbourne, it emerged today. The disaster, which left 298 people dead, claimed the lives of some of the world’s leading experts in the battle against HIV and devastated their families, friends and colleagues. According to the Sydney Morning Herald, delegates arriving in Australia for the AIDS conference were told that 108 of their colleagues had perished.

NEW YORK (AP) — A New York City police officer involved in the arrest of a man who died in custody after being placed in an apparent chokehold has been stripped of his gun and badge and placed on desk duty, police said Saturday.

This is just info, and I’m not sure what it may mean if anything, but if others report it, could mean something.

I live near DC in the Maryland suburbs, and today I’m hearing an unusual amount of jet noise. This reminds me of the fighter jets that flew over the city after 9-11.  However, those were low flying jets. This is much higher/quieter. KANSAS CITY (Reuters) – A 5-year-old Kansas girl who was kidnapped on Friday night died in a gun battle between police and her abductor following a high-speed chase, police said on Saturday.

“The matter unfolded quite rapidly,” said Leavenworth Police Chief Patrick Kitchens,” calling the girl’s death tragic. “We are still trying to sort out specifically what happened.”

Police said the sequence of events began about 7:30 p.m. on Friday when Cadence Harris of Leavenworth was reported kidnapped.
