A student slammed to the ground by a South Carolina school resource officer “bears some responsibility,” Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott said Tuesday.

The student’s violent arrest was captured in videos that went viral and sparked widespread outrage.

“If she had not disrupted the school and disrupted that class, we would not be standing here today. So it started with her and it ended with my officer. A video is rapidly going viral of a school resource officer in South Carolina choking and slamming a high school student who was sitting at her desk.

The incident took place on Monday at Spring Valley High School in Columbia, and was captured on camera by two different students from different angles.

Filming Cops

The Landry family was fast asleep on Sunday morning, when Nancy and her husband were woken up to flashing blue lights and noise outside their bedroom window.

Curious as to what was happening, her husband decided to look out the front door.

They did not realize that opening the door would be like opening the gateway to hell.
