Immediately after shot. This will “defeat” most critics of military curved plates vs other forms of armor when it comes to the “Spall” argument. I highly endorse the curved Patriot Plate with the condor carrier and these spall guards.

Very reasonably priced when compared to many other forms of body armor. Get them while you can ………………

D-Armor Gear

As many of my readers know by now, steel plates offer tremendous advantages (low cost, extreme durability/multiple hits, thin profile), but do suffer from issues with front-face spall (fragmentation caused by defeated rounds) and weight. Most solutions that attempt to address this issue exacerbate the weight, and negate the advantage of a thin profile. PHOENIX — The remnants of Hurricane Norbert pushed into the desert Southwest and swamped Phoenix with record rainfall for a single day, turning freeways into small lakes and sending rescuers scrambling to get drivers out of inundated cars.

In Tucson, one woman died after her car was swept away by flooding and trapped against a bridge.

A flash-flood warning was issued for most of the Phoenix area and its outskirts through Monday morning because of thunderstorms and rainfall associated with Norbert after it was downgraded to a tropical depression.   Continue reading “Record rain in Phoenix turns freeways into lakes”

Unemployment - Public DomainThe Economic Collapse – by Michael Snyder

Should we be concerned that the percentage of Americans that are either working or looking for work is the lowest that it has been in 36 years?  In August, an all-time record high 92,269,000 Americans 16 years of age and older did not “participate in the labor force”.  And when you throw in the people that are considered to be “in the labor force” but are not currently employed, that pushes the total of working age Americans that do not have jobs to well over 100 million.  Yes, it may be hard to believe, but there are more than 100 million working age Americans that are not employed right now.  Needless to say, this is not a sign of a healthy economy, and it is a huge reason why dependence on the government has soared to absolutely unprecedented levels.  When people can’t take care of themselves, they need someone else to take care of them.  If the percentage of people in the labor force continues to decline like it has been, what is that going to mean for the future of our society?   Continue reading “If The Economy Is Recovering, Why Is The Labor Force Participation Rate At A 36 Year Low?”

Angelenos turn to street vending in weak economyLA Times – by TIFFANY HSU

Sitting at her street vending booth with products arrayed neatly on a sequined purple tablecloth, Jackie Lloyd reflects nostalgically on the days when she had a steady salary and regular hours.

That was four years ago, before the 39-year-old was laid off from her job as an elementary school cafeteria worker and mounting bills forced her to venture into self-employment.   Continue reading “More Angelenos are becoming street vendors amid weak economy”

HOUSTON, Texas — Journalist James O’Keefe’s latest video brings attention to the lack of security along the U.S. border with Canada and the ability of terrorists to enter the U.S. by boat.

O’Keefe explains that Security experts say the rise of ISIS in Syria and Iraq has significantly increased the risk of an attack in the United States. O’Keefe explores the questions, “If an ISIS terrorist could get to Canada, could he hire a boat, could he bring poison or even the Ebola virus? Could he get across Lake Erie and into the United States … and could he do it without getting caught?”   Continue reading “O’Keefe Brings Attention to Open Northern US Border”

California’s immigration activists are furious at President Barack Obama’s recent decision to postpone taking executive action to grant amnesty to millions of illegal aliens, breaking a promise to do so by summer’s end.

Los Angeles CBS News affiliate KCAL 9 reports that local immigration reform advocates are convinced that Obama is simply bowing to political pressure.    Continue reading “California’s Immigration Activists Furious with White House Delay”

NOAA satellite image of atmospheric river that caused flooding in the USA taken Feb. 16, 2004.NOAA News, November 2, 2005

Although it probably never occurs to the average person gazing up into a clear blue sky on a tranquil day, the atmosphere can be riven by enormous channels, hundreds of miles wide that are very similar to the rivers that course through the landscape. Even less likely are they to imagine that these so-called “atmospheric rivers” play a critical role in the global water cycle and are a key source of the moisture that falls as rain and snow in the Western states, ultimately providing fresh water through snowmelt in the dry season and during droughts to a huge swath of this semi-arid region. (Click NOAA satellite image for larger view of atmospheric river that caused flooding in the USA taken Feb. 16, 2004. The widening gap between America’s richest and the middle and working classes is unsustainable and is unlikely to improve a survey released on Monday by the Harvard Business School has found.

The study which is called “an economy doing half its job” said that while large American companies were showing signs of recovery and were maintaining their competitive edge on the world stage, many middle and working class US citizens were struggling, as were small businesses.   Continue reading “Widening income gap in US ‘unsustainable’ but unlikely to improve”

The associate athletic director of Robert Morris University says that around 30 athletic and activity scholarships will go to students who play the video game “League of Legends.” The move will likely stretch the definition of what constitutes a sport.

This autumn, the Chicago university will be the first in the US to offer an athletic scholarship to video gamers.

Kurt Melcher has defended the controversial decision, saying that playing a video game is a team sport and that there is strategy involved – although he admitted that “it’s not cardiovascular in any way.”   Continue reading “Video gamers to be offered college scholarships in US”

WASHINGTON (AP) — Summer break over and elections ahead, Congress is beginning an abbreviated September session with must-do tasks of preventing a government shutdown and extending a freeze on taxing access to the Internet.

Lawmakers will find time, too, for votes conveying political messages primed for fall campaigning. Republicans who run the House may have lousy approval ratings, but they are poised to pad their 34-vote majority and determined to avoid mistakes like last year’s partial government shutdown. That fight was over implementation of President Barack Obama’s health care law.   Continue reading “Summer break over, must-do tasks await Congress”

BAGHDAD (AP) — The Arab League agreed Monday to take urgent measures to combat extremists like the Islamic State group as one of its suicide bombers killed 16 people at a meeting of Sunni tribal fighters and security troops in Iraq.

The resolution, issued after late-night meetings of Arab foreign ministers a day earlier, doesn’t explicitly back American military action against the group. U.S. President Barack Obama is seeking an international coalition to challenge the Islamic State group and is expected to outline his plan Wednesday to the American people.   Continue reading “Arab League agrees to combat Islamic State group”

obama-prison-prism-fed-wall-streetGoogle returns over 2 million impeach Obama results and nearly half a million results of the two words Obama and imprison. It is not easy to fathom how many of the articles, blogs and comments in the results are merely rabid vapid racists incensed that a black is President; versus how many have more legitimate grievances.

Some of the articles make various cases to try Obama for War Crimes, Crimes against humanity. Again, race seems to be a factor as Obama’s death toll is about twenty-fold Clintons and about 20% of Eisenhower’s.   Continue reading “Imprison Obama”

There are many reasons to avoid chlorinated pools, most of all due to your health and the environment. Natural Pools allow nature to provide hygienic water for swimming.
