OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Authorities are investigating the damage left behind by spring storms carrying more than a dozen suspected tornadoes that swept across the southern Plains, bringing floods, forcing the evacuation of an international airport and destroying homes near Oklahoma City.

At least 12 people were injured, but no deaths were immediately reported from the twisters that also hit rural parts of Texas, Kansas and Nebraska on Wednesday night. The Oklahoma City area seemed to be the hardest hit. A twister destroyed homes in Grady County, southwest of the city, and it appeared another tornado touched down in the area later Wednesday evening when a second storm came through.   Continue reading “Tornadoes, flash floods upend the Oklahoma City area”

HONOLULU (AP) — About a dozen women arrested over the weekend in a Honolulu prostitution sting at massage parlors won’t be charged with prostitution. Instead, they face the more severe charge of sex assault.

If convicted, the women would have to register as sex offenders and could spend up to a year in jail, while a prostitution charge carries just 30 days. The new tactic from the Honolulu Police Department is extremely unusual for a law enforcement agency, said legal experts and advocates for prostitutes.   Continue reading “Honolulu police use sex assault charge in prostitution sting”

The consequences and patterns of war, whether by one nation against another or by a government against the citizenry, rarely change. However, the methods of war have evolved vastly in modern times. Wars by elites against populations are often so subtle that many people might not even recognize that they are under attack until it is too late. Whenever I examine the conceptions of “potential war” between individuals and oligarchy, invariably some hard-headed person cries out: “What do you mean ‘when?’ We are at war right now!” In this case, I am not talking about the subtle brand of war. I am not talking about the information war, the propaganda war, the economic war, the psychological war or the biological war. I am talking about outright warfare, and anyone who thinks we have already reached that point has no clue what real war looks like.   Continue reading “When The Elites Wage War On America, This Is How They Will Do It”

“You’re just making this stuff up.”

So responded Iowa State Rep. Clel Baudler, chairman of the Public Safety Committee and member of the Government Oversight Committee.

In April, I had traveled to Des Moines to testify regarding civil asset forfeiture. Baudler’s reaction to a law-abiding citizen attempting to state facts and express concerns speaks volumes on the growing rift between citizens and law enforcement.   Continue reading “Civil forfeiture: You can’t make this stuff up”

Gear Layering

What is gear layering? Gear layering is arranging equipment in lines, layers, and levels, to achieve the same thing. It is a technique for prioritizing the carriage of the most essential gear for the specific job over gear that may still be important, but not as high on the priority list as other items. Many sources divided their levels of gear into 3 or 4 layers. DTG recommends and uses 3 layers.

Level 1: Gear that is essential to survival and ALWAYS on your person. If all else fails and an individual loses their harness and ruck, they still will have their level one items with them to help them survive until they can reach support.   Continue reading “General Purpose Gear Load Outs: Part 2”

A U.S. district judge Tuesday dismissed a lawsuit filed by a Pembroke Pines man against a veteran police officer who shot him in the abdomen nearly five years ago while he was in the throes of a convulsion.

Abel Martinez was experiencing a seizure for the first time in his life inside his southeast Pembroke Pines home on June 10, 2010, and was acting erratically when Officer Kevin King arrived. Martinez lunged at the officer and King shot him. District Judge Robin L. Rosenberg ruled that King’s use of force was reasonable under the circumstances.   Continue reading “Judge dismisses excessive-force lawsuit against veteran officer”

Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) on Wednesday said President Obama was working to force the socialist “ideology of Karl Marx” on the country.

“And his calculation is not what’s true and just and right or even good for America, it’s how he can exploit his power base and move our country to the left towards the ideology of Karl Marx, how far he can go and get away with it,” King said on “The Glenn Beck Program,” according to BuzzFeed.   Continue reading “Rep. By now most of us know that the government can read our emails, and listen to our phone conversations. They even know where we are at all times, especially if we use GPS. But their ability to track us goes way deeper than that. In some cases, they don’t even need you to carry a voyeuristic gadget to track you down. In fact, if they ever get a hold of something you printed from your computer, they can find you.   Continue reading “Little Known Fact: Police Can Track You With Your Printer”

Yahoo News – by Caitlan Dickson

“We are not taking over anything,” an exasperated Pentagon spokesman assured reporters this week, in response to rumors that a military exercise planned this summer is actually an excuse to impose martial law on parts of seven Southwestern states. The eight-week exercise by the Army’s Special Operations Command, called Jade Helm 15, is actually aimed at training soldiers to fight in a variety of overseas terrain, but has been the subject of Internet conspiracy theories since it was first announced in March. These theories have been fueled by the release of a map labeling the states that would host the training as either “hostile,” “permissive,” uncertain (leaning hostile)” and “uncertain (leaning friendly).”   Continue reading “From zombies to Jade Helm 15, some conspiracy theories just never die”

(Reuters) – U.S. investigators believe two men killed after opening fire on a Texas event that offered a prize for cartoons of the Prophet Mohammad represent an evolving model of “lone wolf” militants who are radicalized partly by themselves and partly through long-distance engagement with organized militants.

Although the Islamic State movement claimed credit for the Texas shooting, several U.S. officials said investigators have no evidence that either of the men shot dead by security personnel after they opened fire at the Garland, Texas, event traveled to Syria or Iraq. U.S. court documents do show that one of the men, Elton Simpson, once tried to travel to Somalia.   Continue reading “Texas attack shows evolution of ‘lone wolf’ militants – US officials”
