Georgian-born Abu Omar al-Shishani, a top Islamic State commander and Caucasus jihadist recruiter, is thought to have been killed in an air raid in Syria, US officials say, but local forces have not yet confirmed the death of America’s most wanted man.

Also known as Omar the Chechen, 30-year-old al-Shishani is believed to have been a close military adviser to the infamous leader of Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL), Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. KANSAS CITY, Kan. (AP) — A man suspected of fatally shooting four people at his neighbor’s home in Kansas before killing another man about 170 miles away in rural Missouri was taken into custody early Wednesday morning after an extensive manhunt, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

Pablo Antonio Serrano-Vitorino was captured just after midnight Wednesday, patrol Lt. Paul Reinsch said. TEHRAN, Iran (AP) — Iran reportedly test-fired two ballistic missiles Wednesday with the phrase “Israel must be wiped out” written in Hebrew on them, a show of force by the Islamic Republic as U.S. Vice President Joe Biden visited Israel.

An American tourist was stabbed to death and at least nine other people were wounded by a Palestinian armed with a knife on a popular boardwalk in Tel Aviv on Tuesday, authorities said, while U.S. Vice President Joe Biden was in a meeting a few kilometers (miles) away.

Kyle Andrew Odom, the suspect in the shooting of an Idaho pastor, was taken into custody Tuesday at the White House, a source at the U.S. Secret Service told CNN.

Since then a small upturn has moved the index upward slightly. Hellenic Shipping News observes in Baltic Dry Index climbs to 349, up 7.

“Baltic Dry Index is compiled by the London-based Baltic Exchange and covers prices for transported cargo such as coal, grain and iron ore. The index is based on a daily survey of agents all over the world. Baltic Dry hit a temporary peak on May 20, 2008, when the index hit 11,793. BEND – An FBI agent is suspected of lying about firing twice at Robert “LaVoy” Finicium and may have gotten help from four other FBI agents in covering up afterward, authorities revealed Tuesday.

The bullets didn’t hit Finicum and didn’t contribute to his death, but now all five unnamed agents, part of an elite national unit, are under criminal investigation by the U.S. Justice Department. (Reuters) – A slain leader of the armed occupation of a federal wildlife refuge in Oregon was killed by three gunshots fired into his back by police, a county prosecutor said on Tuesday, calling the shooting “justified and necessary.”
