US Legal History

Law is contract, universally and in the U.S., so we must follow the progression of contractual agreements which constitute the underlying U.S. Law. (We cannot address all individual laws and cases or you would not have time in a life to review it, even though ignorance of the millions of laws, statutes, codes, etc… is no excuse in Private Admiralty Jurisdictions.)

The daughter of a police shooting victim has brought a federal lawsuit for wrongful death, municipal liability, and failure to train and supervise against police who she claims shot and killed her naked mother for complying with their request to show the officers where she kept her handgun.

Fifty-four-year-old Deanne Choate was shot dead by Gardner police after they responded to a 911 call that she had been drinking and was suicidal. A 7.8 magnitude earthquake has struck off the coast of Indonesia, killing an unconfirmed number of people. The country has issued a tsunami warning, the National Meteorological Agency reported.

A group of military buddies, all in their 40’s, discussed where they should meet for lunch. Finally it was agreed they would meet at Hooters restaurant because it wasn’t far from the golf course; and the waitresses were young, good looking, had big boobs and wore short shorts.

Ten years later, at age 50+, these buddies once again discussed where they should meet for lunch. Pipeline giant Kinder Morgan’s plans to lay 210 miles of petroleum pipes across East Georgia were thwarted Tuesday when a Fulton County judge ruled the Texas company can’t use eminent domain to take property from unwilling landowners.

Superior Court Judge Kimberly Adams upheld a Georgia agency’s surprising May 2015 decision denying Kinder Morgan a certificate of “public convenience and necessity,” a permit which allows the pipeline builder to secure its route. SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Police Department’s Bomb Squad was called to a Southwest Side neighborhood Saturday after dozens of rounds of ammunition were found underneath a home.

Two Northern California sheriff’s deputies and a former colleague were charged Tuesday with involvement in setting up jail inmates fights to gamble on them.

Former San Francisco Sheriff’s deputy Scott Neu was charged with eight felonies and nine misdemeanors, including assault by an officer and criminal threats. More than a third of people hit by Los Angeles police officers’ gunfire last year had indications of mental illness, double the prior year, according to a report on the use of force released on Tuesday by the Los Angeles Police Department.
