Donald Trump may or may not fix his campaign, and Hillary Clinton may or may not become the first female president. But something else happening before our eyes is almost as important: the complete collapse of American journalism as we know it.

The frenzy to bury Trump is not limited to the Clinton campaign and the Obama White House. They are working hand in hand with what was considered the cream of the nation’s news organizations.   Continue reading “American journalism is collapsing before our eyes”

In a long fearmongering fluff piece titled “Should We Be Having Kids in the Age of Climate Change?” about how the world is overpopulated and too many people = man-made global warming so we’re all gonna die unless we stop procreating, NPR is promoting not only all of that propaganda, but the idea that people in developed nations should be carbon taxed by the government for having children.   Continue reading “NPR Promotes the Idea of a Carbon Taxing Us for Having Kids Because We’re Causing Climate Change”

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — A federal judge in Texas has blocked the Obama administration’s order that requires public schools to let transgender students use the bathrooms and locker rooms consistent with their chosen gender identity.

In a temporary injunction signed Sunday, U.S. District Judge Reed O’Connor ruled that the federal education law known as Title IX “is not ambiguous” about sex being defined as “the biological and anatomical differences between male and female students as determined at their birth.”   Continue reading “Judge in Texas temporarily blocks Obama’s transgender rules”

The FBI’s year-long investigation of Hillary Clinton’s private email server uncovered tens of thousands more documents from her time as secretary of state that were not previously disclosed by her attorneys. The State Department is expected to discuss when and how it will release the emails Monday morning in federal court.

The total — confirmed by the Justice Department — was disclosed by a conservative legal group after the State Department said last week that it would hand over the emails. The number to be released is nearly 50 percent more than the 30,000-plus that Clinton’s lawyers deemed work-related and returned to the department in December 2014.   Continue reading “FBI uncovered tens of thousands more documents in Clinton email probe”

Residents in South Bend, Indiana, dealing with several feet of flooding following a record-decimating rainfall now also have to deal with costly and time-consuming government red tape in order to rebuild homes and businesses — making them hapless victims of both nature and the State.

Before Hoosiers can pick up the pieces by reconstructing their property, the City of South Bend is forcing them to also pick up a building permit.   Continue reading “State Forcing Flood Victims to Obtain Permits Before Fixing their Homes”

TEHRAN, Iran (AP) — Russia has stopped using an Iranian air base for launching airstrikes on Syria for the time being, Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman said Monday, just hours after the Iranian defense minister criticized Moscow for having “kind of show-off and ungentlemanly” attitude by publicizing their actions.

There was no immediate response from Moscow, which had used the Shahid Nojeh Air Base to refuel its bombers striking Syria at least three times last week. Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Ghasemi told reporters in Tehran that the Russian airstrikes on militants in Syria were “temporary, based on a Russian request.”   Continue reading “Iran: Russia has stopped using Iran base for Syria strikes”

ATLANTA (AP) — The five people slain in a massacre at a south Alabama home included a woman who was five months pregnant, Mobile County authorities said. The suspect, Derrick Dearman, attacked them as they slept and then abducted his estranged girlfriend, Laneta Lester, and an infant from the home, a sheriff’s captain said. Both of them were found alive.

Dearman, 27, of Leakesville, Mississippi, will be charged with six counts of capital murder, Mobile County sheriff’s spokeswoman Lori Myles said Sunday. Five counts stem from the killing of Shannon Melissa Randall, 35; Justin Kaleb Reed, 23; Joseph Adam Turner, 26; and Robert Lee Brown, also 26. The additional count is because 22-year-old Chelsea Marie Reed, was 5 months pregnant, Myles said.   Continue reading “Sheriff: 5 slain in Alabama massacre included pregnant woman”

Hillary’s health concerns have been taken to the next level — and we know why she wears pantsuits constantly.

She has a hidden catheter and it’s going to cause havoc within this election.

In case you don’t know, a catheter is a device used to empty one’s bladder. (Perhaps this is why she decided not to use the restroom with another woman during the primary debate, which caused her to be late.)   Continue reading “Hillary wears a catheter?”

While the US media is obsessing over what could happen to the US if the diplomatic debacle that is Donald Trump becomes president (as opposed perhaps to the pathological liar and State Department-for-hire that is HIillary Clinton), the Philippines has a living, breathing example of the worst that a person who has zero regard for the status quo or the establishment, can unleash. Or perhaps the best. We are talking about the country’s new president, Rodrigo Duterte, who most recently made headlines for calling the US ambassador to his country an “annoying, homosexual, son of a bitch“, yet whose policies, unorthodox as they may be, are working when after some 400 drug dealers were killed in the Philippine government’s “war on narco-politics”, reportedly another 500,000 turned themselves in.   Continue reading ““I Don’t Give A Shit About Them” – Philippines President Threatens To Quit “Son Of A Bitch” United Nations”

Franklin Delano Roosevelt called the Japanese “surprise” attack on the U.S. occupied territory of Hawaii and its naval base Pearl Harbor, “A Date Which Will Live in Infamy.”  Similar words should be used for President Nixon’s draconian decision 45 years ago this month that removed America from the last vestiges of the gold standard.

On August 15, 1971 in a televised address to the nation outlining a new economic policy entitled, “The Challenge of Peace,” Nixon instructed the Treasury Department “to take the action necessary to defend the dollar against the speculators.”*   Continue reading ““A Date Which Will Live in Infamy:” President Nixon’s Decision to Abandon the Gold Standard”

When a drum containing radioactive waste blew up in an underground nuclear dump in New Mexico two years ago, the Energy Department rushed to quell concerns in the Carlsbad desert community and quickly reported progress on resuming operations.

The early federal statements gave no hint that the blast had caused massive long-term damage to the dump, a facility crucial to the nuclear weapons cleanup program that spans the nation, or that it would jeopardize the Energy Department’s credibility in dealing with the tricky problem of radioactive waste.   Continue reading “Nuclear accident in New Mexico ranks among the costliest in U.S. history”

“America’s health care system is neither healthy, caring, nor a system.”  Walter Cronkite

Americans are not only choosing a new President but they are also in the process of creating a new healthcare system. What was here at the beginning of 2016 might not even be around by the end of 2017. We are in that radical a period.

I would like to offer a few suggestions that I think will benefit any system we choose.   Continue reading “Rethinking Healthcare 2017”

The Obama administration is allowing trucking companies to buy their way out of a strict set of environmental regulations heaped on the trucking industry.

Charlotte, NC — A community and family is mourning the loss of Daniel Kevin Harris, whose life was taken this week by a State Trooper who apparently fears sign language. Harris, who is deaf and mute, was gunned down in front of his house.

Last Thursday, the U.S. Department of Justice (DoJ) made the shocking statement that it will no longer use private prisons to incarcerate federal prisoners, saying they are less safe and less effective than government-run facilities.

This was welcome news for those who realize that for-profit prisons contribute to the problem of mass incarceration, but the feds still need to address the glaring issue of jailing people for victimless crimes such as drug use.   Continue reading “DoJ Deals Massive Blow to Debtors’ Prisons, Poor People Can’t be Held When They Can’t Afford Bail”

Randall and Vicki Weaver and their children wanted nothing more than to be left to live an isolated life in peace in their cabin enclave on a northern Idaho mountain top called Ruby Ridge. Untrusting of the federal government and of the belief society had taken an insurmountable turn for the worse, the Weavers — as many residents in the remote and breathtaking area — taught their children to be self-sufficient and defend themselves with firearms from unwanted intrusions onto the family’s property.   Continue reading “24 Years Ago the Federal Govt Changed its Rules to Launch a Sniper Attack on Off-Grid Family”
