Douglas, WY — On Thursday, Scott Ramirez was attending his father’s funeral when he was shot and killed by undercover police officers, according to multiple eye-witnesses and local police.

Family members of the people killed in an attack on a South Carolina church last year have sued the U.S. government over an FBI clerk’s mistake that allowed the purchase of the gun used in the shooting, the Post and Courier newspaper reported on Friday.

A Jefferson County sheriff’s deputy was wounded by gunfire this evening during a drug raid in southwest Birmingham.

Update 8:29 p.m. Chief Deputy Randy Christian tells AL.com the deputy injured in the” shooting was the first one through the door when the warrant was served.
