The 19th-century lawyer and abolitionist Lysander Spooner made heads explode when he said the Constitution bound no one, since nobody alive in his day had signed it.

Whenever we undertake any significant endeavor — buying a house, for example — we fill out countless forms spelling out exactly what we are agreeing to and indicating our express consent.   Continue reading “SMASHED: “You Live Here, So You’ve Consented to the System””

“The world is gonna end in 12 years if we don’t address climate change.” Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

That was not one of the two times she was right. What amazes me is the number of trendy people who suffered through 45 degree below zero temperatures (-42.8  C) and still are listening to Al Gore and the 20 plus Democrats running for President. We are entering the Eddy Grand Solar Minimum in 2019 so we ought to see lots of Global Freezing for at least the next 20 years and possibly the next 40 to 60 years. Voters will soon rebel at paying higher taxes to subsidize obvious idiots and grafters even some of AOC’s 2.46 million  Twitter followers will see the light.   Continue reading “AOC And Broken Clocks. Human Events – by Phyllis Schlafly, Aug 23, 2005

Hypocrisy stands at the pinnacle of the sins that liberals most disdain. So it’s fair game to compare the free ride they gave to U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg with their searching the archives to pillory every word ever written by Supreme Court nominee John Roberts.

Liberal commentators and U.S. senators, who are salivating at the upcoming interrogation of Roberts, never asked Ginsburg about her extremist views spelled out in her lengthy paper trail. The senators didn’t have to do much research; I made it easy for them by publishing her words in my July 1993 Phyllis Schlafly Report.   Continue reading “Flashback: Senators Overlooked Radical Record of Ruth Bader Ginsburg”

Hard as it is to believe, airline travel recently became even more unpleasant. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) employees being required to work without pay for the duration of the government shutdown resulted in many TSA workers calling in sick. The outbreak of “shutdown flu” among TSA employees forced some large airports to restrict the number of places mandatory TSA screenings were performed, making going through screening even more time-consuming and providing one more reason to shut down the TSA.   Continue reading “Shut Down the TSA!”
