We often hear members of law enforcement state the dangers of marijuana to ridiculous levels. But the Attorney General of South Carolina has perhaps said the most ridiculous statement yet.

South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson referred to marijuana as “the most dangerous drug” in America. Wilson’s comments were part of a press conference where several other politicians, law enforcement officials and doctors spoke out against a proposed bill that would legalize medical marijuana in South Carolina.   Continue reading “South Carolina Attorney General Calls Marijuana the ‘Most Dangerous Drug’ in America”

The Pennsylvania Supreme Court has ruled that Jerry Sandusky be re-sentenced on the basis that in 2012 the judge improperly imposed mandatory minimum terms that sent the former Penn State football coach away for 30-60 years.

In the same ruling, the court rejected Sandusky’s appeal for a new trial. Sandusky, now 75, was convicted by a Centre County Jury of 45 counts of sexual molestation and remains imprisoned in Western Pennsylvania.   Continue reading “Sandusky needs to be resentenced, court says”

Patriot Rising – by Michael Snyder

The U.S. national debt is wildly out of control, and nobody in Washington seems to care.  According to the U.S. Treasury, the federal government is currently $21,933,491,166,604.77 in debt.

In just a few days, that figure will cross the 22 trillion dollar mark.  Over the last 10 years, we have added more than 11 trillion dollars to the national debt, and that means that it has been growing at a pace of more than a trillion dollars a year.  To call this a major national crisis would be a massive understatement, and yet there is absolutely no urgency in Washington address this absolutely critical issue.  We are literally destroying the financial future of this nation, but most Americans don’t seem to understand the gravity of the situation that we are facing.   Continue reading “The Most Depressing Stat Of The Month: The U.S. National Debt Is About To Pass The $22 Trillion Mark”

Hundreds of Northern California wildfire victims desperate for housing and living in recreational vehicles on their burned-out lots were ordered off their properties Monday after federal authorities threatened to cut off funding for the state’s biggest natural disaster cleanup.

The Paradise Town Council unanimously rescinded a two-month-old law allowing residents to live in temporary shelters on their burned-out properties before the lots are cleared and certified safe for habitation. The unanimous vote Monday occurred after an emotional and tense meeting that was the first in Paradise city hall since the Nov. 8 fire destroyed most of the city of 27,000 people.   Continue reading “Camp Fire victims living in RVs ordered to leave properties”

Charlotte, N.C., resident Matt Gleason hadn’t gotten a flu shot for more than a decade (why start now?) but after having it last winter he decided to go for it; his workplace was offering the jabs in October and they were free! What could go wrong?

Five minutes after the shot, he fainted. Even though he came to rather quickly (he has a history of fainting) a colleague called 911. But when the paramedics got there and sat him up he vomited and that was worrisome enough for a trip in the ambulance to the hospital.  Continue reading “Man slapped with nearly $5K hospital bill after fainting from flu shot”
