“Curb Your Enthusiasm” actress Cheryl Hines has condemned her husband Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s comments about Anne Frank, who was murdered by Nazis as a teenager, which he made during a rally against vaccine mandates.
Kennedy, a longtime opponent of vaccines, invoked Nazi Germany in his screed against vaccine mandates on Sunday, at the Lincoln Memorial, and suggested that Frank was better off than Americans whose jobs require them to get vaccinated. Just as the Omicron wave may have broken across the U.S. comes word of another version of the more transmissible variant, dubbed BA.2. It’s been nicknamed by some “stealth Omicron” because it seems to evade identification better than its predecessor.
While other new variants that seemed worrisome — like Mu or Lambda — have had little impact, and details remain sketchy, early indications are that BA.2 seems to be spreading even in countries where the original Omicron lineage, BA.1, is dominant. Neil Young, an outspoken advocate for Covid-19 safety and prevention, doesn’t want his music to share a home with vaccine misinformation.
In a now-deleted post on his website, Young asked his managers and record label to remove his music from Spotify because he said the music and podcast platform is “spreading fake information about vaccines — potentially causing death to those who believe this disinformation spread by them.” (Rolling Stone originally reported the text of the deleted post.)
