Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia said Wednesday the court eventually will have to determine the legality of far-reaching National Security Agency spying programs, though he is not convinced the court is equipped to based on modern security threats.

Scalia, speaking at the Northern Virginia Technology Council, said elected officials are most qualified to discern how much personal information of Americans the NSA can collect, and under what circumstances.    Continue reading “Supreme Court is ill-equipped to judge NSA surveillance programs – Scalia”

A well-known and highly respected Yemeni anti-drone activist was detained yesterday by UK officials under that country’s “anti-terrorism” law at Gatwick Airport, where he had traveled to speak at an event. Baraa Shiban, the project co-ordinator for the London-based legal charity Reprieve, was held for an hour and a half and repeatedly questioned about his anti-drone work and political views regarding human rights abuses in Yemen.    Continue reading “NSA document considers anyone speaking out against the drone program to be “adversaries,” “threats” and “propagandists””

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The IRS is unable to account for $67 million spent from a slush fund established for Obamacare implementation, according to a Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA) report released today.

The “Health Insurance Reform Implementation Fund” (HIRIF) was tucked into Obamacare in order to give the IRS money to enforce the tax provisions of the healthcare law.  The fund, totaling some $1 billion of taxpayer money, was used to roll out enforcement mechanisms for the approximately 50 tax provisions of Obamacare.   Continue reading “IRS Watchdog: $67 Million Missing from Obamacare Slush Fund”

A Palestinian village home to 120 people had its houses, kindergarten and shepherding stables demolished this week by Israeli authorities. This came after the Supreme Court ruled its inhabitants – some of whom have lived on the land for generations – didn’t have proper building permits.

The Palestinian Bedouin village of Khirbet Al-Makhul, located in the occupied territories, is the third such village to be demolished by Israel since August. After it was destroyed on Monday, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) attempted to deliver emergency aid to the displaced residents on Tuesday and Wednesday, but were stopped by Israeli soldiers.   Continue reading “Israeli Soldiers Throw Sound Grenades at EU Diplomats Bringing Aid to Displaced Palestinian Families”

General Abdel Fattah el-Sisi was Egypt’s commanding general and then Egypt’s Defense minister. Now he is the country’s First Deputy Prime Minister. And he is Jewish. That he is Jewish is left out of all Corporate Media articles. If you knew his mother was a Moroccan Jew and that his uncle was a member of the Israeli Knesset, you might be able to connect the dots and see through the illusions spun by the news.   Continue reading “Connecting The Dots: Israel, London, Wall Street And The Mideast”

A group consisting of 40 state attorneys general has petitioned the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) calling upon the regulatory agency to start regulating electronic cigarettes in much the same way that they do tobacco products.

In a letter dated September 24, members of the National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG) urged the FDA to meet the agency’s own, previously-established October 31 deadline to propose regulations regarding the advertising, ingredients and sale of the battery-powered devices to minors.   Continue reading “State Attorneys General Call On FDA To Regulate E-Cigarettes”

The Justice Department’s internal watchdog says the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives mounted dozens of undercover investigations into illicit cigarette sales without proper approval.

It says the agency misused some of $162 million in profits from the stings — including overpaying an informant by millions of dollars — and lost track of at least 420 million cigarettes.  Continue reading “US: ATF misplaced 420 million cigarettes in stings”

Police in California would be prohibited from helping deport some illegal immigrants under a bill being considered by Gov. Jerry Brown, in a proposed change some say would violate federal law.

The so-called Trust Act would bar police from cooperating with Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers on a variety of cases. Proponents say the bill is narrowly focused and only applies to those illegal immigrants arrested for minor crimes.   Continue reading “California lawmakers move to shield illegal immigrants from deportation”

Prior to the advent of patentable and more profitable antibiotics, medicines containing silver were the most widely prescribed infection fighters by doctors and there were no fewer than 34 different approved prescription and over the counter medications which contained silver. Now, after the elimination of most large particle and silver nitrate products and after improved technology has made nano-sized particles that require far less parts per million, colloidal silver proponents claim that it is safer and more effective than ever. At the same time, however, it has become the subject of increasing attacks by mainstream medicine, which labels colloidal silver as a scam, as quackery and as a dangerous substance with no proven value.    Continue reading “The Truth About Colloidal Silver and why mainstream medicine attacks it”

(It is important to preface this article with the notice that I am not using the doctrinally correct terminology to describe some of the collective tasks included herein. If all your schooling is from reading FMs, STPs, and ARTEPs, you’re about to get really, really, confused. If you’ve served in a conventional unit, in any sort of leadership position, some of this may even sound heretical. Bear with me, think about it, and you may actually realize, Holy Shit! He’s right!   Continue reading “Planning Group Training: Developing A Mission Essential Task List”

New Details in Case of Officer Taking NY Man Jon Gibsons Pro Gun SignTheBlaze – by Jason Howerton

A police officer was justified in taking a New York man’s pro-Second Amendment sign as the city of Somers, N.Y., has determined it was located on “public property,” Town Supervisor Mary Beth Murphy told TheBlaze.

However, the man’s attorney, Richard Bombardo, of Syracuse, strongly refuted the claim, telling TheBlaze “that’s not what the law says.” To that effect, the attorney said he and his client, Jon Gibson, will “probably” file federal civil rights lawsuit.   Continue reading “Lawyer vs. Town Supervisor: New Details in Case of Officer Taking Man’s Pro-Gun Sign”

A new video surfaced on the internet and arrived just after the anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks. According to liveleak.com, the video features “never before seen footage in NYC on 9/11.”

Some of the clips seem unquestionably accurate. These include shots of the thoroughly dusty streets that only explosions of 9/11’s magnitude could create. Others feature confusing dialogue. We don’t always see the speakers’ faces, rendering subtitles necessary.   Continue reading “New Never Before Seen Footage Of 9/11 Will Give You Chills”
