The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has produced a report [pdf] in which it finds that
“Official data released by the Israeli authorities indicate that over 11,000 demolition orders – affecting an estimated 13,000 Palestinian- owned structures, including homes -are currently ‘outstanding’ in Area C of the West Bank. These orders heighten the vulnerability of thousands of poor Palestinian households, some of whom are at imminent risk of forcible displacement.”

It’s something of a truism in physics that closed systems tend toward entropy. In other words, building walls around a process will make it degrade faster than it normally would. And this principle clearly applies beyond physics.
An academic named John B. Calhoun famously documented this effect in rat populations. He gave his animals everything they could possibly need but enclosed them in a limited space. VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The four police officers who shot and killed two people inside a vehicle during a gunfight in a convenience store parking lot didn’t realize there was an infant in the back seat of the car until after the gunfire stopped, police said Tuesday.
Angelo Delano Perry, a 35-year-old Virginia Beach resident with an extensive criminal history, and 28-year-old postal carrier India Kager of College Park, Maryland, were shot to death Saturday night less than 15 seconds after officers approached the parked vehicle they were in. The couple’s 4-month old son, Roman, was sitting in the rear of the vehicle in a car seat and escaped uninjured, said Virginia Beach Police Chief Jim Cervera. The Greek island of Lesbos has been turned into a war zone by rioting migrants, leaving the island’s 85,000 residents in despair. Around 25,000 migrants are currently camped out on the island with hundreds more arriving daily, leading to frequent violent clashes and rioting despite their claim to be fleeing violence.
Located just 6 miles from the Turkish shore, the migrants come over in inflatable boats which they cut up on arrival to prevent being turned back, expecting to be able to quickly travel on by ferry to mainland Europe, German station RTL has reported.
