LAS VEGAS (AP) — There won’t be a federal trial next month in Las Vegas for rancher Cliven Bundy and 18 other defendants in an armed confrontation with government officers two years ago.

In a written ruling issued following a two-hour hearing in a courtroom crowded with defendants, attorneys, U.S. marshals and audience members, U.S. Magistrate Judge Peggy Leen essentially called a May 2 trial date unrealistic.   Continue reading “No May court date for federal Bundy standoff case in Nevada”

Today on Survival Saturday, we have a series of stories that could  all be headlined, “What could possibly go wrong?” Do you remember the reality show by that name, where a couple of guys apply science and logic to ill-conceived ideas and explain exactly what could go wrong when you power  a skateboard with homemade rockets? Perhaps our future doom won’t be caused by some kind of epic disaster, but by the unwillingness of the people to actually accept reality and apply logic to it.

Survival Saturday is  a round-up of the week’s news and resources for folks who are interested in being prepared.   Continue reading “Survival Saturday: What Could Possibly Go Wrong?”

Tax forms reveal that the controversial billionaire Koch brothers are throwing money into an effort to stop conservation efforts in the Grand Canyon.

Amid rumors that Charles and David Koch will be withdrawing their presence at the Republican National Convention, it has been revealed the billionaires have been funneling money into an Arizona-based group fighting a plan to ban uranium mining around the Grand Canyon, which would also protect 1.7 million acres of land.

Fascism doesn’t often sweep in overnight and take over some hapless nation’s government; rather, it gradually seeps into the cultural fabric — as is quietly taking place all around the globe, evidenced by an upsurge in sales of riot equipment that has gone largely unnoticed.

A new report from analysts with industry research group, Sandler Research, forecasts the Global Riot Control System Market for the next four years — but beyond a burgeoning market to parallel the expanding global police state, it appears world governments are also keenly aware of civilian discontent. Sandler predicts the market will have an annual growth of 3.5 percent, and makes a telling juxtaposition, emphases added, involving the United States:   Continue reading “New Report Proves US Law Enforcement Preparing for Rioting on a National Scale”

There are 55.3 million Latinos in America, nearly triple the 1980 population, and those under 18 years old are the largest group, a demographic fact likely to influence the future of the country, according to Census figures.

A new analysis from the Pew Research Center, found that the vast majority are of “Mexican origin,” and most of the younger Latinos were born in the United States to immigrants. Editor’s Note:  Anna Tomerlin has done some extensive investigation into the family line of Rafael Edward “Ted” Cruz and frankly, the information is quite disturbing.  Anna has graciously allowed us to repost her article to inform the public.

It is time to choose The Constitution and The Republic over Politicians and Political Parties.

Ted Cruz’s Natural Born Citizen status is in question. For that matter his citizenship status is in question. Cruz is an agent for a foreign power and foreign invader. Rafael Edward “Ted” Cruz is not a United States citizen.   Continue reading “Citizen Journalist Takes on Ted Cruz”

More and more independent research and studies are indicating that BT corn and GMO crops resistant to Monsanto’s best selling herbicide ‘Roundup’ are toxic to both the environment and human’s health.

Although biotech companies and their financial beneficiaries have shamefully been spending millions of dollars lobbying to hide and promote GMOs under the so called label of ‘Natural’, more and more independent researchers, scientists and health advocates are warning the public about the hidden dangers of GMOs and chemicals used in planting GE crops.    Continue reading “Recent studies find Monsanto’s Bt corn toxic to humans”

Somebody screwed up at the United States Army Garrison (USAG) in Hohenfels, Germany the other day because I am relatively sure that an airdropped Humvee is not supposed to move towards the ground quite that quickly. Someone in the 173rd Airborne Brigade probably has some explaining to do.

As posted on the U.S. Army WTF Moments Facebook page and highlighted by Foxtrot Alpha, the botched airdrop lead to the free fall and subsequent destruction of three Humvees. You can watch all of them absolutely crater below, but just brace yourself for some colorful language as the cameraman cheers on the vehicular carnage:    Continue reading “Botched Airdrop Sends Humvees Plummeting To Their Doom”

The former head of the FDA, Margaret Hamburg, used the federal agency to run a massive conspiracy of racketeering and fraud in order to generate millions of dollars in drug company profits for her husband’s hedge fund firm, alleges a damning lawsuit filed in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia.

The lawsuit alleges that while acting as FDA commissioner, Margaret Hamburg engaged in a wide-ranging conspiracy to approve an extremely dangerous drug known to cause severe (and even deadly) side effects, in order to financially benefit her husband’s hedge fund which held very large financial positions in Johnson & Johnson, makers of the drug. “Defendants, each and every one of them, operated a criminal conspiracy at least between the years 2009 to 2015 to fraudulently suppress warnings about the devastating effects of Levaquin,” says the complaint.   Continue reading “Former FDA commissioner Margaret Hamburg named in massive conspiracy and racketeering lawsuit involving Johnson & Johnson, a Wall Street hedge fund, and the Levaquin drug”

William Shakespeare is to blame for one of the most highly-invasive species living in the United States.

Back in late 19th century, a Bronx-based drug manufacturer Eugene Schieffelin decided he wanted to introduce every avian species in the Bard’s literature to the United States. To star, he released 60 European starlings, which were imported from England, into New York City’s Central Park in 1890. The following year, he added another 40 to the wild.   Continue reading “13 invasive species wreaking havoc in the United States”

Recognizing the possibility of a contested convention in Cleveland this summer, Republicans are considering an electronic system to capture votes on what could be a contentious set of procedural motions leading up to nominating a presidential candidate.

The Republican National Committee agreed Thursday not to change the rules of the convention at this point, but is exploring changes to the way that delegate votes are recorded.  The idea of electronic voting is gaining steam now because in a disputed floor fight, voice votes may not cut it.   Continue reading “Is Electronic Voting Coming to the GOP Convention?”
