Turkey’s president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, said his government would ensure that the Turkish people’s “call” to reinstate the death penalty in wake of the failed coup is heard despite the EU’s warning that it would bring accession talks to a halt.

In a Monday interview with a German broadcaster ARD, Erdogan pledged to follow up on his promise to reintroduce capital punishment if such a request is submitted by the country’s parliament, saying the government could not ignore the will of the people.   Continue reading “Erdogan says Turkish people want death penalty reintroduced, slams EU for ‘inaction’”

Go Healthy Next – by Eileen Dufree, N.C.

Inflammation, stress, diabetes, and cancer – these are just some of the health conditions that are commonly found today.  Nearly everyone deals with variations of health issues during their lives, whether they are directly affected themselves, or know a friend or family member who suffers.  It does not help that humans continue to contaminate their insides with corrupted food sources. Many people want to try to eat healthy, but pesticides, parasites, bacteria and viruses found among fresh produce, for example, can make otherwise nutritious food harmful.  These contaminants need to be removed from food before human consumption if there is any hope to restore or maintain optimal health.    Continue reading “The common problem with low oxygen.”

Sen. Lindsey O. Graham (R-S.C.) sounded irate in a brief phone interview Monday afternoon with Right Turn. His subcommittee, with strong bipartisan support, has already passed legislation to hike military aid to Israel from $3.1 billion to $3.4 billion for 2017. But as has been reported in Israeli papers, the administration — with one more kick in Israel’s shins before President Obama leaves office — has told Israel there will be no increase this year or in a new 10-year memorandum of understanding (MOU). Moreover, the long-standing offshore procurement (OSP) agreement that allows Israel to purchase a significant percentage of its defense equipment from Israeli companies may get nixed or squeezed.   Continue reading “Sen. Lindsey Graham: ‘No time to nickel and dime Israel’”

PHILADELPHIA — A new Clinton administration would pursue a bill to legalize illegal immigrants in “the first 100 days” of her tenure, vice presidential candidate Tim Kaine told Spanish-language network Telemundo in an interview Monday, presenting a deep contrast with Republicans.

Mr. Kaine also predicted that House Republicans, who stopped President Obama’s last bid for legalization in 2013, will reverse themselves next year and said House Speaker Paul D. Ryan will lead the GOP to embrace legalization.   Continue reading “Tim Kaine promises bill to legalize illegal immigrants in ‘first 100 days’”

A joint expedition by India and the U.S. discovered a major deposit of natural gas in the Indian Ocean, offering the potential to significantly expand energy production in a region that’s currently a big importer.

India’s Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas and the U.S. Geological Survey struck a large, highly enriched deposit of natural gas hydrate — an icy form of the fuel — in the Bay of Bengal off the country’s east coast, potentially the first producible reserve of its kind in the waters, the U.S. agency said in a statement Monday.   Continue reading “India, U.S. Discover Major Natural Gas Reserve in Indian Ocean”

Just days before a big race, an up-and-coming Nascar team suddenly found the crew chief’s laptop going haywire and all the team’s critical files locked up.

The team was the victim of a ransomware attack, a type of virus that locks up computer files until money is paid.

“A message popped up that said my files had all been encrypted. … The only way to get it back is to pay a ransom,” said Dave Winston, the crew chief for Circle Sport-Leavine Family Racing.

SAGAMIHARA, Japan (AP) — A young Japanese man went on a stabbing rampage Tuesday at a facility for the mentally disabled where he had been fired, officials said, killing 19 people months after he gave a letter to Parliament outlining the bloody plan and saying all disabled people should be put to death.

When he was done, Kanagawa prefectural authorities said, 26-year-old Satoshi Uematsu had left dead or injured nearly a third of the almost 150 patients at the facility in a matter of 40 minutes in the early Tuesday attack. It is Japan’s deadliest mass killing in decades. The fire department said 25 were wounded, 20 of them seriously.   Continue reading “Letter foretold Japan rampage that killed 19 disabled people”

When the federal government takes the rare step of fining medical providers for violating the privacy and security of patients’ medical information, it issues a press release andposts details on the web.

But thousands of times a year, the Office for Civil Rights of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services resolves complaints about possible violations of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act quietly, outside public view. It sends letters reminding providers of their legal obligations, advising them on how to fix purported problems, and, sometimes, prodding them to make voluntary changes.   Continue reading “The Secret Documents That Detail How Patients’ Privacy is Breached”

United States — A spectacular implosion has beset the Democratic Party following the Wikileaks release of memos and emails proving, well, just about every accusation from independent media and Sanders supporters made throughout the past year — many of which had been mocked publicly as conspiracies by party insiders.

In the latest jaw-dropper over the nearly 20,000-document leak deserving of the title, DNC-Gate, already-loathed Democratic National Committee Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz — shamed into resignation from decisive evidence of party collusion with corporate presstitutes against Sanders, among multiple other once-conspiracies — has been dutifully scooped up in an act of mordant hubris by none other than her teflon idol, Hillary Clinton.   Continue reading “Proving She Can Do Anything She Wants, Clinton Hires Disgraced DNC Chair for Own Campaign”
