SANAA, Yemen (AP) — A jet-fighter from a Saudi-led coalition struck a military convoy belonging to Shiite rebels and their allies in southern Yemen on Wednesday, straining a humanitarian, five-day cease-fire that took hold the previous day.

Meanwhile, a senior Iranian military official warned the U.S.-backed coalition against blocking a Yemen-bound Iranian aid ship, saying that such a move would “spark a fire” in the region. Wednesday’s airstrike in Yemen’s Abyan province was in response to an attempt by the rebels known as Houthis to reinforce their forces in the nearby city of Aden, a port city on the Arabian Sea, said Yemeni security officials. The Houthis acknowledged the airstrike, but said nothing about the convoy. There were no immediate reports on casualties or damage resulting from the airstrike.   Continue reading “Saudi airstrike hits Yemen rebel convoy, strains cease-fire”

When I think of America’s place in the world today, the image that comes to mind is of a very large animal, perhaps a huge bull elephant or even prehistoric mammoth, which long roamed as the unchallenged king of its domain but has become trapped by its own missteps, as caught in a tar pit or some quicksand, and it is violently flailing about, making a terrifying noises in its effort to free itself and re-establish its authority.

Any observer immediately knows the animal ultimately cannot succeed but certainly is frightened by the noise and crashing that it can sustain for a considerable time.   Continue reading “America as Dangerous Flailing Beast”

American Everyman – by Scott Creighton

To start off let’s make this very clear: President Peace Prize did not kill Osama bin Laden. I don’t care which version of the fairy tale you chose to “BELIEVE” in.

Sy Hersh’s painfully contrived new version of “The Death of bin Laden 2.0” is still being hotly debated across the interwebs. I picked his offering apart the other day and have very little interest in spending much time on his ridiculously cobbled together narrative that he clearly cooked up, by his own admission, like a stenographer recording the secret CIA “retired official’s” new version of events.   Continue reading “CIA Assets in Pakistan Back-up Seymour Hersh’s Propaganda “The Death of bin Laden 2.0″”

Americans harmed by vaccines often receive little or nothing after a long legal battle despite a $3.5 billion federal fund designed to help them.

“Nobody who develops the vaccine, who markets and profits from the vaccine, who regulates the vaccine, who makes policy for it, who promotes it, who gives it, is accountable in a civil court of law,” Barbara Loe Fisher, the President of the National Vaccine Information Center, told Cronkite News.   Continue reading “The Government Pays Out $3.5 Billion For Vaccine Injuries – And You Probably Didn’t Even Know It”

In one of her most dramatic interviews to date, International Criminal Court Prosecutor Fatou Bensouda told the Associated Press that Israel must provide her information on alleged 2014 Gaza War crimes or she may be forced to decide whether to launch a full criminal investigation based solely on information likely provided to her by human rights critics of Israel.

In the interview, which broke early Wednesday Israel-time but took place in New York on Tuesday leading up to a major speech by Bensouda to the UN Security Council, the ICC Prosecutor said that neither Israel nor the Palestinians had provided any official information to date.   Continue reading “ICC prosecutor urges Israel to provide information for Gaza war crimes probe”

If you get your cell phone service from either Sprint or Verizon, then you may be due for a refund.

The two companies have agreed to settle complaints that they charged customers for services they did not order, PIX11 reported.

As WTIC reported, Sprint and Verizon partnered with vendors that sold premium text services that delivered horoscopes, trivia and scores.  The problem is that some customers who had not signed up for the service were being billed the nearly $10 monthly charge.   Continue reading “Refund may be in order for Verizon, Sprint customers”
