The Pacific trade agreement failed its first test in the U.S. Senate on Tuesday after a key Democrat said he would vote against a procedural vote to support President Barack Obama’s diplomatic pivot to Asia.

Oregon Sen. Ron Wyden said Tuesday that he will vote “no” in the procedural hurdle to grant the president Trade Promotion Authority—or so-called “fast-track” status for trade deals. The final vote saw 52 “yea” and 45 “nay” votes—shy of the 60 affirmatives required to pass the procedural hurdle.   Continue reading “Trade bill fails procedural vote in Senate”

The UN plans to launch a brand new plan for managing the entire globe at the Sustainable Development Summit that it will be hosting from September 25th to September 27th.  Some of the biggest names on the planet, including Pope Francis, will be speaking at this summit.  This new sustainable agenda focuses on climate change of course, but it also specifically addresses topics such as economics, agriculture, education and gender equality.  For those wishing to expand the scope of “global governance”, sustainable development is the perfect umbrella because just about all human activity affects the environment in some way.    Continue reading “In September, The UN Launches A Major Sustainable Development Agenda For The Entire Planet”

WASHINGTON (AP) — A U.S. military helicopter carrying six Marines and two Nepalese Army soldiers went missing during a mission in Nepal delivering aid to earthquake victims, U.S. defense officials said Tuesday, but so far there have been no indications that the aircraft crashed.

U.S. Army Col. Steve Warren said an Indian helicopter in the air nearby at the time heard radio chatter from the Marine aircraft about a possible fuel problem. He said the Huey, carrying tarps and rice, had dropped off supplies in one location and was en route to a second site when contact was lost. He said officials are hopeful that the aircraft is simply missing because there has been no smoke or other signs of a crash.   Continue reading “US Marine helicopter missing in Nepal earthquake aid mission”

Iran has claimed that the honored U.S. raid on the compound in Abbottabad did not result in the death of Osama Bin Laden. Although this rumor has circulated ever since President Obama declared to the world “we got him” back in 2011, Iran maintains it has evidence that would prove the narrative surrounding Bin Laden’s death to be fictitious.

“We have credible information that Bin Laden died some time ago of a disease,” Iranian Intelligence Minister Heydar Moslehi stated in a cabinet meeting. “If the US military and intelligence apparatus have really arrested or killed Bin Laden, why don’t they show him [his body]? Why have they thrown his corpse into the sea?”   Continue reading “Iran Claims It Has Proof Bin Laden Died Long Before US Raid”

I recently snapped a photo from an advertising circular that was delivered to my home, proudly promoting Monsanto’s ‘probably carcinogenic’ Round Up, on sale no less, at a local hardware store. While US garden and DIY stores are still selling cancer-causing poison in a jug, a German retail giant will no longer carry glyphosate-containing products as ofSeptember 30, 2015

More than 350 ‘toom Baumarkt DIY’ stores belonging to the REWE Group are removing any product that contains this endocrine disrupting chemical concoction, and as of today, no such products can be re-ordered from their stores.   Continue reading “Victory: German Retail Giant Removes Glyphosate from 350 Stores”

Post-9/11 alone, millions of civilians perished in US direct and proxy wars. They were either in harm’s way, deliberately targeted, or perished from war related violence, preventable diseases or deprivation.

Washington, like Israel, considers noncombatant civilians legitimate targets. International law calls killing them a war crime.   Continue reading “US Wars Kill Mostly Civilians”

“First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out, because I was not a socialist. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out, because I was not a trade unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out, because I was not a Jew. Then they came for me, and there was no one left to speak out for me.”

Approximately $8 billion in debt securities are affecting a popular investor’s service decision about one of biotech’s biggest. Investing credit rating company Moody’s has affirmed that Monsanto’s new rating is being downgraded from ‘neutral’ to ‘negative’ following Syngenta’s announcement that it has refused Monsanto’s unsolicited bid of CHF449 per Syngenta share in a combination of cash and stock.

Monsanto’s offer would have valued another biotech bully at a mere US$20 billion paid in cash. For investors in Monsanto, Moody’s calls their aggressive attempt at takeover a “heightened event risk” due to their more aggressive financial policy.   Continue reading “Still Losing: Creditors Change Monsanto’s Investor Rating to “Negative””

KATHMANDU, Nepal (AP) — A major earthquake hit a remote mountain region of Nepal on Tuesday, killing at least 37 people while triggering landslides and toppling buildings less than three weeks after the Himalayan nation was ravaged by its worst quake in decades.

The magnitude-7.3 quake — centered midway between the capital of Kathmandu and Mount Everest — hit hardest in districts northeast of the capital. The case of 43 missing students from Ayotzinapa teachers college, who were kidnapped last September from the Mexican city of Iguala and have not been seen since, has caused an international outcry and rocked the presidency of Enrique Peña Nieto. The Mexican government has sought to portray the Iguala case as the work of local government officials and their gangster accomplices, but as The Intercept reported this week, evidence implicating authorities in the disappearances has led to a concentration of popular anger in a single phrase: fue el estado. “It was the state.”   Continue reading “Mexican Authorities Implicated In Violence, But U.S. Security Aid Still Flows”

I keep getting this message when sending a comment in.  It says “something caused Internet Explorer to close, do you want to re-open?  When you punch in “Yes” it restores Internet Explorer but it erases the comment you spent time trying to share.  I can’t tell you how many comments of mine they’ve erased in the past week.

I thought it was on my end.  Now, I don’t know what to think.   Is anyone else having this problem?  Just curious and trying to resolve this.  It’s very frustrating to work on a comment and then lose it.
