The Economic Collapse – by Michael Snyder

Whenever a tragic act of violence makes national headlines, the calls to give up more of our freedoms and liberties in exchange for the promise of increased security become deafening.  But if we take another step toward becoming an authoritarian society every time something horrible happens, eventually we won’t have any of the basic liberties and freedoms that previous generations of Americans fought so hard to secure for us.  Unfortunately, voices like mine are becoming increasingly rare, and the American people seem to want a society that will shelter them from anything that could possibly go wrong.  Of course there has never been such a society in all of human history, and we won’t be able to create one either.  No governmental system can eliminate the problem of evil, and bad things sometimes happen to good people.  And without a doubt, the mass shootings that we witnessed over the weekend were absolutely horrific.  In less than 24 hours, 29 American lives were lost between these two mass shootings, and this has greatly shaken the entire nation…  Continue reading “America Is Not Going To Be A Free And Open Society Any Longer”

On Saturday, a white supremacist killed 20 people and injured dozens of others at a Walmart in El Paso, Texas. On Sunday, nine people were shot and killed in downtown Dayton, Ohio, with 27 others injured. Walmart has an interesting role in this: While company founder Sam Walton was an avid hunter, most people associate the big box store with groceries, cleaning supplies, and clothing. In many locations, perhaps surprising to some, you can buy guns and ammunition. And while it depends on the state, Walmart does allow you to open carry in stores where it’s legal to do so.  Continue reading “El Paso massacre leads to social media movement: Stop selling guns and ammunition, Walmart”

DAYTON, Ohio (AP) — Police worked Monday to pin down why a 24-year-old gunman killed nine people, including his sister, in a weekend shooting rampage in a popular nightlife area in Dayton, Ohio.

Connor Betts, who was wearing a mask and body armor when he opened fire in the bustling Oregon District early Sunday morning, had a level of weaponry that was “fundamentally problematic,” said Dayton Police Chief Richard Biehl.  Continue reading “Unknowns in Ohio shooting include: Did he target his sister?”

Two mass shootings have rocked the United States in less than 24 hours, leaving dozens dead and many more wounded. The first in El Paso, Texas was allegedly perpetrated by a white supremacist whose racist motives are outlined in a rambling “manifesto”, the second allegedly by a self-described “leftist” whose motives, like the 2017 Las Vegas shooter, are presently unknown. These incidents occurred a week after another mass shooting in Gilroy, CaliforniaContinue reading “Americans Should Be Very Skeptical Of Calls For New “Terrorism” Laws”

It’s a position none of us here ever thought we would be faced with. Yes, we heard rumors as children, and some of us saw it coming, but for the most part, a lot of us were hit with a left hook. We never thought in a thousand years our own people would throw the American Dream to the gutter.

As a child I can remember playing hand ball, playing on the monkey bars, running around on the field playing touch football during our school recess, it was 45 minutes of pure fun, sweating profusely from all the fun, returning to our class room for a lesson on our beloved Bill of Rights, with a surprise quiz always to follow. We were proud as hell kids, looking forward to the pledge of allegiance every school morning.  Continue reading “Trenchers In Disgust – America Being Destroyed”
