Just days after Democrat Rep. Luis Gutiérrez (D-Ill.), became the third House Dem to file articles of impeachment, joining Trump antagonists Brad Sherman (Calif.) and Al Green (Texas) who both filed similar articles earlier this year, on Wednesday morning several House Democrats introduced five articles of impeachment targeting President Trump, claiming that Trump has violated the Constitution.

Following through on their threats, Democratic representatives Steve Cohen, Luis Gutierrez, Brad Sherman and Al Green were among those at a press conference, saying the five articles of impeachment come out of concern for the country’s national security. The articles focus on Trump’s firing of former FBI Director James Comey, perceived violations of the Emoluments Clause, as well as actions “undermining” the judiciary and freedom of the press.   Continue reading “House Democrats Introduce Five Articles Of Impeachment Against Trump”

OTTAWA (Reuters) – Canada will redouble its lobbying efforts in Congress to block any Trump administration move to pull the United States out of NAFTA, sources familiar with government strategy said, as talks to modernize the treaty run into trouble.

Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) took to Twitter on Wednesday to hint that his Republican colleagues are ready to cave on gun control.

Democrats have pushed over ten different gun controls since the October 1 Las Vegas attack. Those include a ban on semiautomatic weapons, “high capacity” magazines, bump stocks, and “assault weapons.” The gun controls also include calls for an Australian-style gun ban, a ban on trigger cranks, and the implementation of expanded background checks, even though the Las Vegas gunman—and almost every mass public attacker of recent memory—passed a background check for his firearms.   Continue reading “Sen. Agrochemical giant Monsanto and US farm groups are suing California to stop the state from issuing cancer warnings on the company’s herbicide glyphosate, which farmers use on genetically engineered crops.

California has added glyphosate, the main ingredient in Monsanto’s herbicide Roundup, to a list of cancer-causing chemicals. The state acted after the World Health Organization’s International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) recently ruled glyphosate a carcinogen. IARC said that along with other Monsanto chemicals Roundup could cause Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, autism, and cancer.   Continue reading “Monsanto sues California over weed killer cancer warnings”

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Nearly 50 years after he was arrested in the kidnapping and rape of a nurse, a Louisiana man was preparing to walk out of prison on Wednesday, his life sentence and conviction overturned by a judge who said the case against him was “weak at best.”

Authorities withheld evidence decades ago that could have exonerated Wilbert Jones, now 65, State District Judge Richard Anderson said. His lawyer, Emily Maw, praised “the extraordinary strength” of a man “who has spent over 16,000 days in prison for something he didn’t do,” and would nevertheless “come out with a faith in God and in humanity.”   Continue reading “Lawyer: Freedom nears for man wrongfully convicted in 1974”

The Anti-Defamation League awarded US Air Force Academy Lt Gen Jay Silveria on Tuesday for his “actions in standing up to racial slurs” which were scrawled on several black cadets dorm rooms at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs late last year.

They made no mention of the fact his speech was based on a hate hoax.
