Syria is determined to retake control over other its terroritores occupied by terrorists or hostile foreign powers, according to the country’s Permanent Representative to the UN Bashar al-Jaafari, during a session of the UN Security Council on the situation in Syria.
Al-Jaafari added that Syria rejects any “armed presence” and “occupying forces” on its territory and accused Israel, Qatar, Turkey, the US, the UK and France of waging a “terrorist war” against Syria. Of course, CNN anchor Anderson Cooper had to interview Playboy playmate Karen McDougal for an hour to get the ratings boost, but a win is a win. Cooper’s intense questioning detailed the playmate’s alleged affair with Donald Trump from multiple angles. US President Donald Trump said on Thursday that US forces would pull out of Syria “very soon” and lamented what he said was Washington’s waste of $7 trillion in Middle East wars.

Larry King claimed Wednesday that the Second Amendment was instituted to “ward off slave uprisings” and no longer has a function in the 21st century.
King, standing outside of a restaurant in Beverly Hills, California, told TMZ that he agrees with former Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens, who wrote in a New York Times op-ed published Tuesday that the Second Amendment should be repealed. In a broad expansion of the information gathered from applicants for U.S. visas, the federal government is proposing to collect social media identities from nearly everyone who seeks entry into the United States, according to a State Department filing on Friday.
The proposal, which must be approved by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), would require most immigrant and non-immigrant visa applicants to list on a federal application form all of the social media identities they have used in the past five years. Twelve Palestinians were killed and some 1,100 were wounded by Israeli tear gas, rubber bullets and live fire in the Gaza Strip on Friday, the Hamas-run Health Ministry said, as a series of massive protests along the security fence around the Hamas-controlled enclave intensified and turned violent. Some Palestinian sources put the death toll at 10-12.
The Israel Defense Forces estimated that over 30,000 Palestinians were taking part in Hamas-encouraged “March of Return” demonstrations along the Gaza border, focused at six main protest sites where rioters threw firebombs and stones at troops, tried to bomb and breach the security fence, and burned tires. The Trump administration is poised to abandon America’s pioneering fuel economy targets for cars and SUVs, a move that would undermine one of the world’s most aggressive programs to confront climate change and invite another major confrontation with California.
The Environmental Protection Agency is expected to announce in the coming days that it will scrap mileage targets the Obama administration drafted in tandem with California that aim to boost average fuel economy for passenger cars and SUVs to 55 miles per gallon by 2025, according to people familiar with the plans.
