Powerline – by John Hinderaker

We have long been critics of Barack Obama, sometimes harsh ones. But we have always tried to be fair. So when unfairness comes to light, we feel obliged to object to it.

That happened yesterday when Texas Congressman Louie Gohmert lit into Obama for his incompetent foreign policy. The Daily Mail has the story:

Lawmakers are fuming over President Barack Obama’s admission on Thursday that his White House lacks a strategy for dealing with the rise of the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS) in Syria…. Continue reading “Critisism of Obama is OK, but we draw the line at unfairness to Barney Fife”

A woman in Ohio was on a walk with her dog, one that she’s taken hundreds of times before. This time however, she was met by two men who came out of the bushes with baseball bats and said “You’re coming with us”. The men were not deterred by her dog.

They were deterred however, by the firearm that the woman drew from her purse and quickly pointed toward them.

I have this and I’m not afraid to use it.

As you probably have already guessed, this sent the two men fleeing at a quick pace.

The woman, Dinah Burns, has her Ohio concealed carry permit and says that she just recently started carrying it with her while out on her walks. Continue reading “CCW IN ACTION: Ohio Woman Wasn’t Abducted Thanks To Her Concealed Carry Firearm”

On the first Monday of September, the United States celebrates Labor Day… but just what is Labor Day?

The first Labor Day Parade was held September 5th, 1882 in New York City to celebrate the strength of trade and labor organizations and to host a festival for worker’s families. But there are conflicting theories as to who created the holiday. Some say that it was Peter J McGuire of the American Federation of Labor, while others argue it was Matthew Maguire (Maguire not McGuire) that proposed the holiday while serving as the secretary of the Central Labor Union of New York.   Continue reading “Labor Day’s surprisingly dark history”

A Dairy Queen employee in Albuquerque, New Mexico had to use a concealed firearm to defend himself and his co-workers from an armed robber yesterday evening.

According to the Albuquerque Journal,
