Free Range Report – by Marjorie Haun

Some of the worst wildfires in Colorado history have raged this summer, with new ones flaring up daily. Thus far, the massive Spring Creek fire–the third worst in state history–has burned over 104,000 acres southwest of Pueblo, the Burro and 416 fires near Durango have burned over 61,000 acres, and other fires burning in central and northern Colorado have consumed more than 40,000 acres. For several weeks, wildland firefighters have been battling the 416 fire which is still only 45 percent contained, and there is no end in sight for the Spring Creek fire, which today is only 5 percent contained. A report in the Canon City Daily Record, described the Spring Creek blaze as “a flood of fire” which has destroyed more than 250 homes.   Continue reading “Forest Service keeps SuperTanker grounded as Colorado wildfires explode”

Welcome to the future, citizen, where employees not replaced by robots will be granted raises based on their predicted performance by a computer.

And no, this is not some dystopian vision of the future: IBM is already doing just that – using their “Watson” artificial intelligence to look at an employee’s “experiences and projects” and integrating data from their internal training system to assess whether an employee has gained new skills.    Continue reading “Employers Start Using AI To Set Raises Based On “Predicted” Performance”

The name of México has several hypotheses that entail the origin, history, and use of the name México, which dates back to 14th century Mesoamerica. The Nahuatl word Mexicomeans place of the Mexica but the ethnonym Mexicatl itself is of unknown etymology.[1] An alternate possibility is that the name may come from the word mexixin, a cress that grew in the swamplands of Lake Texcoco.[citation needed] It was an edible grass that the Aztecs or Mexica survived on as they settled where today lies México City.   Continue reading “Name of Mexico”

Australia’s Minister for Social Service, Dan Tehan, announced July 1st, the Australian Government will monetarily penalize any citizen whose children are not up to date on their vaccinations. The penalty, in the form of a reduction of government payments, amounts to $56 (AUD) monthly.

Called the “No Jab No Pay” program, Australia aims to increase compliance with government mandated vaccination programs by taking money away from its citizens. Parents who refuse to vaccinate their children may continue to do so under religious or medical grounds, but will not be allowed to keep the money they were previously receiving from the government.   Continue reading “Australia Now Issuing Fines to Citizens Who Refuse Vaccines for Their Kids”

The transgender war on cultural norms is not just about restrooms and pronouns.  It’s about denying biological fact and quotidian reality.  It’s about an epidemic of irrationality, a cultural contagion, a mass delusion claiming more victims every day.  It’s about silencing free thinkers who refuse to bow to the radical “gender” ideology.

Absurd theories that deny scientific fact have been adopted by the mainstream press, the entertainment industry, the medical establishmentpublic schools, universitiescorporate management, and government agencies.  People who fear social isolation and charges of bigotry are following along.   Continue reading “Opposing the Transgender Movement”

Moments after Neo eats the red pill in “The Matrix,” he touches a liquefied mirror that takes over his skin, penetrating the innards of his body with computer code. When I first learned about the controversial new digital drug Abilify MyCite, I thought of this famous scene and wondered what kinds of people were being remade through this new biotechnology.

Otsuka Pharmaceuticals and Proteus Digital Health won Food and Drug Administration approval to sell Abilify MyCite in late 2017. This drug contains a digital sensor embedded within the powerful antipsychotic drug Abilify, the brand name for aripiprazole, which is used to treat schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and major depressive disorder. The goal of the digital sensor is for doctors to monitor their patients’ intake of Abilify MyCite remotely and ensure that the patient is adhering to the correct drug dose and timing.   Continue reading “Digital Mental Health Drug Raises Troubling Questions”

DETROIT – Given that the best way to store your car keys at night is by putting them in a coffee can, what’s an ex-FBI agent’s advice to protect cars from theft during the day?

Wrap car fobs in aluminum foil.

“Although it’s not ideal, it is the most inexpensive way,” said Holly Hubert, a cybersecurity expert who retired in 2017 from the FBI in Buffalo, New York. “The cyber threat is so dynamic and ever changing, it’s hard for consumers to keep up.”   Continue reading “Why you might want to wrap your car key fob in foil”

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has issued an effective shutdown order to a New Mexico-licensed driver who was involved in a fatal crash earlier this year. Investigators say Evaristo S. Mora, who was served with the federal order July 3, was operating in violation of an out-of-service order and was in egregious violation of hours of service limits, says FMCSA.

The agency says that on June 13, Mora was driving in a work zone on U.S. 54 in Pratt County, Kansas, when his vehicle veered into a lane of oncoming traffic, colliding head-on with another tractor-trailer. The driver of the other vehicle was killed, as was a passenger in Mora’s truck cab.   Continue reading “Driver involved in fatal crash while over hours limits shut down by FMCSA”
